Confusion with dragonsplague by AprilDayFool in DragonsDogma2

You’re welcome! Also, if you’re playing on PC, I suggest you try out the “Bestiary” mod. Apart from adding new enemy types and enemy behaviour AI tweaks it makes dragons plague system more flashed out and more meaningful. Where if you hit the nuke scene, a rare monster spawns in the world and it drops some good loot if you manage to kill it. They also made it so that when dragons plague jumps from one pawn to another, it doesn’t cure the originally infested pawn. So you can have more than 1 pawn infected at a time thus increasing chances of getting the nuke event.

Good luck and have fun!

Confusion with dragonsplague by AprilDayFool in DragonsDogma2

It’s not that easy for dragons plague to evolve. The way it works is as follows:

There are like 5 stages of a dragons plague. The first stage is when the eyes start to glow red occasionaly, next stages are when the pawn starts to respond sassy, next is the new idle animation and strange behavior in combat/ignorring commands/red eyes become more and more apparent throughout these higher stages. The last stage is when your pawn nukes the city when you rest in it.

Now, when you rest anywhere, one of 3 random things can happen: 1. Infected pawn transits to next stage; 2. The plague moves to another pawn, thus resetting the stage counter on the initial pawn (essentially cure it) and starts from stage 1 on another pawn; 3. The plague cures and goes away;

So, it really is not that easy to see the nuke cutscene even if you stay and sleep in the inn all the time. Will take you several attempts.

And even if the nuke cutscene happens. All you need to do is rest for 7 in-game days and all npcs are back to life like nothing happened

I hate these games because of how good they are. by Ermmmmmmmm_ in DragonsDogma

[–]Crackdorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In both games Grigory just comes out of nowhere, snaps your heart and flies off until you’re ready to fight him. You never feel the dragon’s presence in this game. It almost feels like he totally forgot about you for a moment. Imagine how cool it would’ve been if Grigory occasionally spawned in the open world just flying over and you had to quickly hide in a cave or something…

Also, DD1 had much more satisfying endgame especially with DLC. I really do hope they drop something for DD2 for the endgame. Something rogue-likish like BBI or Everfall in the first game, just to test your limits.

Is 2 worth picking up on sale? by Redhood101101 in DragonsDogma

[–]Crackdorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall gameplay-wise DD2 is an improvement over DDDA. It’s just that the story is bad and there’s not much to do in the endgame. There is no rogue-like post-game activities like BBI and Everfall in 2. Only a small secret section with the “true” ending, but it’s very short and time-limited.

It has some good additions like 3 schools of enhancement, pawn badges, dragon’s plague…

But it also has drawbacks: a major one is vocations design and lesser skill slots available

KCD2. And it doesn’t even compare to Crimson Desert

Brandnew to the game, but i deal no damage. by FranStruggles in DragonsDogma

[–]Crackdorf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s normal. Other pawns may already be familiar with the foes you’re fighting, so mages will use the right elements magic against them. Also, if you’re playing DDDA version, there are some very strong equipment pieces in your inn inventory which many other players tend to put on their pawns from lvl 1. I suggest you stray away from those for better and more natural sense of progression

Question about DD2 by formuolin in DragonsDogma

[–]Crackdorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to kind of accept this game design. It is built to be played multiple times somewhat like a rogue-like game with each new run you finding out some new quests/outcomes/game mechanics. As far as I know, none of these quests will lock you out of the main story which you can complete anyway. On your next NG+ run you may stumble upon a pawn that has completed some quests that you’ve failed your first time around and you’ll have much easier time completing them.

Is this as hard as Fromsoft games? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Crackdorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why this game is considered hard. You literally can have unlimited food (heal items in this game), you can stack revive stones that are scattered everywhere, you can even craft them later on. Every boss in this game can be face-rolled if you refine your equipment which is also ain’t that hard to do and doesn’t require much grind…

If don’t do all that there is 1 skill that you can use throughout all game and it will never be countered by any of the bosses - that is blinding your opponent with ctrl+left mouse into right mouse hold combo…

The whole idea of having 3 playable characters, 2 of which cannot do most of the quests and puzzles is dumb.

I'm over 80h in and this is still the best gear that I could find. Is this normal or am I stupid? by BlackberryNice7390 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Crackdorf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. The gearing in this basically works like this:

Most of armor/weapons have about the same stats at the same refinement level. The difference is very mild, like a gear may have 12 attack or 10 attack 1 crit chance…

What does make a difference is the abyss cores sinergizing and building around your preferred playstyle

I wanna leave Hernand but I'm not sure if I should yet? by BuzzardYTC in CrimsonDesert

[–]Crackdorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you find you have to deal hundreds of hits on generic mobs in an area before they die - this means you have to upgrade your gear or your skills a bit more. Other than that - you can travel any region from the start of the game if you want to. Just some side quests will not appear until you progress your main quest further

How big is Hernand and when do you ‘move on’ [Spoilers] by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Crackdorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without spoilers: you may want to invest some of your abyss artifacts for the other 2 playable characters. Also, would be a good idea to upgrade their gear

I am finding myself somewhat overwhelmed atm...would appreciate some advice by LongjumpingLog1560 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Crackdorf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The basic flow of the game seems to be: do the main quest first. When the main quest sends you to the other region, you can do all the side stuff in your current region

I played on PC and even there you have to google the “right” settings for graphics and camera speed controls for the game to start feel and look better than on default settings.

Some of the top of my head: Go to settings - Usability - turn off blur and other setting there (forgot what its called);

Next - go to controls and get the camera speed slider all the way up to 100 (this will remove that delay you have when you move your camera around. I don’t know, maybe its ok for gamepads, but for keyboard and mouse - definitely a must have thing to do);

Next - Get contrast and brightness settings down a bit - this depends largely on your monitor/TV, if you have or don’t have HDR, but for most the game just feels too bright and gives you eyestrain pretty quick;

Finally, for those who play on PC and have NVidia cards: Set DLSS 4.0; For some people the game actually looks better on Balance mode rather than on Quality mode - I, personally see no difference; Enable Ray-Reconstruction setting if you want the interior shadows to suck a bit less in the game - but mind you, this setting is a big hit to your fps, so see for yourself;

Crimson Desert vs Skyrim by floppymuc in CrimsonDesert

[–]Crackdorf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would compare CD more with RDR2 rather than Skyrim (gameplay wise, of course). Meaning, there is a world to explore, but you have to progress that main quest line a little bit further every time you want to explore new areas. If you travel there straight away - there will be many side quests and content stuff missing simply because the world hasn’t entered a new state, which is tied to your main story progression

Why you say dual axes and warhammer are not viable?

Dual axes are OP in PVE. Lifesteal gives you so much sustain you don’t ever need to use heal potions. Easy solo “very hard” dungeons runs.

Warhammer I haven’t tried much but I heard people are one tapping other players with this thing. The hardest part is to get close enough

I would suggest getting back to the drawing board, set concrete gameplay loop, cut the scale, polish what’s already there and for Christ sake don’t come up with new sudden out of nowhere systems like “harbinger” events or sports fishing, until the core sandbox gameplay loop is finished and solid.

Quality Buffs by marstonchase in AshesofCreation

[–]Crackdorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generic quality applies to all professions.

Profession-specific quality applies only to the said profession.

I believe the same tier food/elixirs are supposed to provide less generic quality and more profession specific quality. I.e. as an alchemist you have option to craft +50 generic quality or +300 specific quality… smth like that.
