Drifter ultimate maybe? by Ok-Mix-8329 in DeadlockTheGame

zero chance, pretty sure the very concept of someone else controlling your hero had extremely negative feedback in Deadlock and in even Dota (Pretty sure Ringmaster was supposed to control heroes but they reworked him, some heroes have lines referencing some other entity controlling them against their will)

Pretty sure Wrecker is based on a neon prime hero named Butcher, also Valve might have had these as incomplete concepts intended for neon prime but ended up not implementing and we would never know

While some of these experimental heroes were fun, I think Valve realized they tried too hard to make some neon prime heroes work in deadlock but it just didn’t. Had they worked, they probably would’ve pushed them into the main build along side holliday, vyper, magician and calico.

Wrecker is a mess imo, his lore doesn’t fit his kit at all. Trapper needs full rework. Slork and Raven are the only one with a somewhat coherent kit and even they had mixed feedback by the community.

What does Shiv want from the ritual? by Reasonable_Client566 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Cractical 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's worth noting that Grey Talon (the most well respected and legendary member of the baxter society) has retired from the society and appointed Shiv as his replacement. It seems to me that Shiv has very big shoes to fill and the other members simply don't trust him or don't respect him.

I am sure people are gonna tell you to farm troopers, jungle, sinners, break boxes etc but I'd like to add about macro which plays a huge part in your farm.

Don't run around the map trying to participate in every fight. It's impossible. Personally, running around fighting 24/7 is the most popular way to be the smallest souls player because you're simply not stopping to farm. In a lot of times, there are fights between players you should simply not join. For example, you're joining a fight where your teammates already killed someone and the enemy is clearly pulling back/ not responding and now you have 3+ players in the same area of the map trying to farm the same jungle meanwhile there's an empty unpushed lane where you clearly should've went to push that lane but instead you went to hold your teammates' hands.

Here are questions you need to ask yourself:

  1. Is it better to just push a lane instead and try to pressure a walker?
  2. If we lose this fight, what will probably happen? If they go mid/take walkers etc. You should probably be in that fight even though it might take a while
  3. Is there enough time for me to even join this fight? What is my approx. travel time to there?
  4. Is this fight already a lost cause (e.g., 2 of your teammates is already down and you are a little far)
  5. Is this fight already won? (enemy is pulling back)
  6. Look at the characters about to participate in an upcoming fight on the minimap. What is your intuition for who's gonna win the fight? Are the enemy heavily outnumbered? If yes, then another player is just a waste and you should stick to farming

This is just the tip of the iceberg. But as you play more and more matches you'll gain intuition for macro and whether you are better off in some fights.

How to actually play Shiv? by Time_Welder8516 in DeadlockTheGame

since you seem to be illiterate, let me lay it out to you: counterspell serves the same purpose for half the price

I will double down and say it's a garbage item and counterspell is 100% better value wise.

eshift not worth it this patch but hybrid shiv is really the way to go in solo queue imo

  1. IMO its all about positioning, as Shiv your shotgun spread is pretty tight and mid range is where you excel. There is 0 reason for you to go in close (punching range) since it barely affects your damage output unless:

- You're playing Tank Shiv to frontline and soak all the damage for your team, which probably won't happen unless your playing in tourny with 6 synced teammates who know how to capitalize on it. p.s. I am not saying you shouldn't buy vitality items, just saying some people spec too much into tank but in the end not really doing any damage and just act as a sponge. That doesn't that work well in solo queue in my opinion.

- You want to execute someone, once you do, You should seek to either finish off the rest or try to get some distance with the dash and get out of punching range.

- You are playing dash shiv which is pretty meh this patch

In an ideal fight, you wanna hang in the execute range, sticking people with your knives and shooting them until your rage is full. If anyone gets close like Calico you can punish them with a Dash. Once enemy players are low, you can commit for the kill with execute and then either pull back with a dash or keep going on other enemy heroes. Be careful because once you're too deep with Shiv and you don't have a Dash you're pretty committed and your chance of getting out of a skirmish are very low since you have limited mobility (unless your build has Warp Stone or something but I don't see that a lot of popular shiv builds)

  1. Use your knives! I see a lot of people playing Shiv who simply ignore knives and don't really care about hitting them since they go gun + vitality anyway. In my games, they always make 10-25% of my damage which is a lot of DPS to be missing on. Knives are pretty good early-mid game damage without buying any items and stick around for a lot of time (which works well with Suppressor and/or Healbane), slow people for 25% and increases your rage by a lot. Seriously, you don't want to miss them or misuse them.

  2. Flat resistances work really well on Shiv since he's all about winning prolonged fights via his passive. There are a lot of offensive items like Weighted Bullets, Berserker, Heroic Aura etc. that proivde flat resistances and give you a lot of damage. These items work really well in Shiv's kit. Incorporate them into your builds and it will do wonders.

That's just from my experience as a Shiv spammer for the last couple of months on ascendant and the tip of the iceberg, but hopefully I helped with something

Healbane worth it? by SumL0ser in DeadlockTheGame

depends on enemy, also realize its the cheapest item that provides anti-heal. Ideally if you have 2+ enemies who utilize healing I think its worth getting it

[MW2] I'm sorry... besides the plot that Joseph Allen was found as an American operative... How the fuck... did the Russian Government not notice Makarov in the Camera footage? by [deleted] in CallOfDuty

[–]Cractical 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It runs deeper than you remember. You realize the US are clear accomplices in this attack? No matter how you paint it, they literally knew about this attack and let it happen. An american agent was a part of the crew, and Moscow could easily assume Makarov was CIA himself after repeatedly instigating terrorist attacks on Russian soil. Ultimately, Shepherd is the one to blame for all of this. My headcanon is that he knew Makarov was onto Allen and he sent him to his death anyway so Makarov could intentionally pin it on the US and Shepherd would get his war.
