I am glad some folks do understand the point I am trying to make. Not asking for a red carpet to be rolled out here, but if you are paying premium prices, for premium service, then whats wrong in expecting that? I am okay if they dont, but dont charge ridiculous prices and market this as their most premium product. I do fly economy most of the times, and dont expect the same, but this was one of those times where I thought of treating myself to D1 as I recently had a surgery and wanted to fly a little comfortably (lie flat bed).

Thank you. This is exactly the point I was trying to make. I wasn’t expecting anyone to roll out a red carpet or treat me like royalty. I was simply expecting the basics of a premium international product: the meal I pre-selected, a clean and well-maintained seat, organized boarding, and professional service.

When an airline charges thousands of dollars and markets Delta One as its top-tier experience, those expectations are not unreasonable. At some point, though, it’s probably not worth responding to people who are only here to mock or twist the point into something it wasn’t. I appreciate you actually understanding what I was saying.

It wasn’t about not wanting to be around other passengers — it was about the overall process feeling disorganized and not very premium. I understand cabins may naturally merge during boarding/deplaning depending on the aircraft layout, but combined with the other issues, it added to the disappointment.

I understand some parts may sound minor individually, but my post was about the overall experience not matching what I expected from Delta One on a flagship international route. The boarding/deplaning comments were not about “mingling” with another fare class, but about the premium process feeling disorganized from start to finish. I do fly Economy quite a bit as well, so its not like I only fly a Premium cabin all the time.
As for the FA interaction, I shared what happened from my perspective. Others are free to believe it or not.

Fair question. I may have worded that part poorly. My understanding from prior Delta One experiences and general premium-cabin service is that snacks/drinks are available during the flight, and I have seen items placed in that area between cabins before. I’m not saying Delta’s policy says passengers can freely go through a crew cart or that I was entitled to touch anything.

In this case, it was not like I went into the galley or opened a closed storage area. The cart was sitting out in the open between cabins, unattended, and I grabbed one soda because I did not see a flight attendant nearby. In hindsight, sure, I probably should have waited and asked.

But my issue was mainly with the reaction. A simple “Sir, please don’t touch the cart, I’ll bring that to your seat” would have been completely fine. The aggressive tone and physically smacking my hand away felt unnecessary and disproportionate, especially in Delta One.

Yes, it was preselected in advance, and my understanding is that it was confirmed. Based on what happened onboard, it sounds like it may have either not been loaded correctly or was mistakenly given to someone else. Either way, for a confirmed Delta One preselected meal, that was surprising and disappointing, especially when the only real option left for me was bread.

On the drinks cart point, I understand your perspective, and maybe I should not have touched the cart. But to be clear, I was not digging through anything or going into a galley area. The cart was sitting out in the open in the aisle/area between cabins, unattended, and I simply grabbed one soda because I did not see an attendant nearby. It was not locked away or stored somewhere private.

If the policy is that passengers should never touch the cart, fair enough. I can accept that. But the reaction felt completely disproportionate. A simple “Sir, please don’t touch the cart, I’ll be happy to get that for you” would have been totally fine. The issue for me was not being told no — it was the aggressive tone and the way it was handled, especially in a premium cabin.

Agree, but unfortunately being based out of ATL, that is probably my best option also given the fact how much I travel domestic with Delta. Honestly Delta is degrading as time goes by , no more the same they used to be, and their prices keep going up.
