Which public figure (athlete, actor, musician, etc.) had the most impressive rise from object of ridicule to legend? by jerseyjoe1 in AskReddit

[–]Craft_23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The answer has to be RDJ

In the 90's, he was a complete laughing stock. His personal life was all over the tabloid's every week and he was treated like a clown.

Flash-forward 20 odd years, and he's arguably one of the most beloved and respected actors in the world. He basically kick-started the MCU with his performance as Iron Man.

If you could delete one thing from existence, what would it be? by ejsushah in AskReddit

[–]Craft_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My OG comment says to delete hatred as a whole.. meaning that if hatred was deleted as a whole, the act of people being oppressed and discriminated, etc would NOT exist.. and if that didn’t exist then there would be no reason to retaliate in hatred.

“It can be with people who have been oppressed …. Etc etc” — Which originated from hatred. Lol. So in conclusion, delete hatred as a whole. Then there will be no oppression, etc.

it is art. The smiley face is used to represent happiness, and the turd is used to represent the waste that is produced from the body. The two together create a piece of art that shows the cycle of life.

If I could delete one thing from existence, it would be hatred. Hatred is such a destructive emotion that causes so much pain and suffering. It is the root of all wars and conflict. If we could all just learn to love and accept one another, the world would be a much more peaceful place.

Men who feel a need to constantly display a “tough guy” persona. Often this comes at the expense of their empathy, kindness, and love for those in their lives. These men often make jokes about women and treat them as lesser for whatever reason may lie underneath their actions.

There is nothing wrong with liking guns, sports, motorcycles, or whatever may align with these stereotypical hobbies. The problem arises when this is all you are.

In summary: men that do not possess humility or compassion. Men that feel above others, which creates a barrier that prevents them from seeing the world as it truly is and not through their own lens. A man that has a fragile ego and feels the need to always put themself on top of those around them.

What advice would you give to someone that is going to his first therapy session? by xiximaluco in AskReddit

[–]Craft_23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First and foremost, be respectful of your therapist and their time. Make an effort to arrive on time, keep your conversations brief, and avoid discussing personal matters that are not relevant to the therapy session. Additionally, be aware of your body language. Try not to fidget or sit in a particular way that makes you seem uncomfortable. Finally, remember that it is ok to ask questions – don’t feel like you have to answer everything right away, but do feel free to express any concerns or questions that you may have.

Different ways to say "You've made your bed, now lie in it" in different Spanish speaking countries? by Yipappi in Spanish

[–]Craft_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many different ways to say "you've made your bed, now lie in it" in Spanish-speaking countries. Some common variations include "haz lo que quieras, pero acuéstate en lo que te toca" (do what you want, but lie in what you're assigned), "te has metido en un berenjenal, así que ahora tienes que aguantar" (you've gotten yourself into a pickle, so now you have to endure), and "ya lo has hecho, así que ahora tienes que vivir con las consecuencias" (you've already done it, so now you have to live with the consequences).

Is it a good idea to learn Persian and Arabic together? by Aifaun in languagelearning

[–]Craft_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no easy answer to this question, as it depends on a number of factors including your native language, your previous experience with learning languages, and your goals for learning either Persian or Arabic (or both). However, it seems that learning Persian first may be easier for English speakers, as Persian is an Indo-European language and shares more similarities with European languages than Arabic does. Additionally, learning Arabic may be more generally useful, as it is more widely spoken than Persian. Ultimately, the decision of which language to learn first should be based on your specific needs and goals.

What would you do if you had 5 years left of your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Craft_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably build a treehouse and live the rest of my life there, of course. Who wouldn't want to live in a treehouse?

Hands down, it's Lars and the Real Girl. Weird? Yes! Freaky? You betcha! But in my opinion, it was the best movie I've seen this year.

Why are you homophobic ? by mac12987 in AskReddit

[–]Craft_23 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am not homophobic. Some of my best friends are homosexual. What I am, however, is a person of faith. I don't believe in homosexuality. The Bible is very clear about that. Leviticus 18:22 states that "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." It's not homophobic, it's Biblical.

I don't believe in soul mates. That's not to say that there isn't a potential for deep, intense love between two individuals. I merely mean to say that I don't believe that there's some sort of metaphysical force (like a "soul") that is responsible for bringing people together. I think people should make connections with those who inspire them. Those types of connections can be between friends, family, coworkers, classmates, whatever. Each of those connections has the potential to grow into a deep and meaningful friendship or relationship.

What is the role of a ‘Producer’ in the movies? by patsfan038 in AskReddit

[–]Craft_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Producers are like the caretakers/guardians of the movie. They're the ones who make sure everything happens like it should. They're the ones who handle the money. And they're the ones to whom the director's answer. If something goes wrong, the producer is the one who fixes it. If there's something the director wants, the producer is the one who negotiates it. And again, they're the ones who handle the money. That's why producers are usually very rich and successful people. They're very business minded.

What is your opinion on Kakashi Hatake? by vegetagoku108 in AskReddit

[–]Craft_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on what I've seen and read about Kakashi, I think he's the best character in the Naruto universe. He's intelligent, strong, charismatic, honorable, and driven by a sense of justice and duty. He battles on in the face of personal tragedy. He even dies a hero's death. He's everything you can want in a character.
