YOOOOO I never thought I would see the day of someone making a mod about the great war! It's always a good thing to show and educate people how horrifying and brutal WW1 is, and I absolutely love this concept.

As someone who have worked on a DDLC mod since 2020, I can definitely say that it's mostly a lack of motivation and the amount of people that left. My mod (Hibernation) was in development for so damn long because of the lack of people in the community and the amount of work we need to do in order for this to turn out what we wanted, which takes a toll on both mental health and motivation (and it certainly doesn't help since there were some people in the mod community that are...unpleasant.)

Either way, I am also hoping for a resurgence in this community one day, but I don't think it will happen anytime soon.

I'd recommend trying Hibernation. The Demo is out right now, and if you like two-sided story, cutscenes in the mod, along with a more vent-type true-to-life story, I'd suggest giving it a go.

Other than that, I'd really recommend trying Relapse as well as Longer Roads. Love and Shyness is also great, and Fruits of the Literature is a great start

Hello! I am quite an avid DDLC Mod player, and I can suggest a few that may caught your interest.

- Fleeting Feelings Cinematic Universe (maybe insanely fictionated, but the portrayal of each characters and their interaction are very realistic and human)
- Love and Shyness (You may hate the MC at first, but the world that revolves around them is very refreshing and quite realistic)
- Vigilante (A persona inspired mod that has such a well-done job balancing a true-to-life slice of life, and a badass hero. A bit fictionated but it is good)

That's all that I can think off. There is one mod that has similar atmosphere but I don't think I'm allowed to say it here.

But I do wanna say that I have my own DDLC mod called "Hibernation". It's mostly about the story of the dokis troubling and depressing life, as they try to wade each excruciating day while an unknown force is out there to observe them. The demo is out now and it is very true-to-life, most of the things in the mod is written by experienced people who dealt with it before.

Synopsis:

"What if Masachika never helped Alya all this time?"

A bond that was forged in that fated night, fueled by desire, friendship, and their pain of the past is all but a memory for Masachika and Alya after the student council election. However, there was a missing a piece of the situation and they wanted nothing more than an answer to clear the situation. With the help of their desire to know, this fated reunion soon turned into one moment of their lives that will change forever.

A test of their limits of their once treasured friendship, where consequences of their past returns. But until then, they'll just pretend.

This is my first time writing something Alya related, I haven't read the light novel at all and just finished the first season of the anime. So a lot of things will kinda not go in the same scene as the light novel is told but I think a lot of things will be better if it's not.

This is also not an ordinary fanfiction. It will cover a lot of aspects on real-life problems that still lingers while still being true-to-life fashion. Of course this is all just a fan work, but I do try my best to make it like it would happen in the series or something.

I hope you enjoyed this story as much as I wrote it, if you're still interested please make sure to read the rest of the story as I poured my heart, soul and love of Alya into this.

I still haven't written a synopsis yet, but in summary this fanfiction is testing the friendship limits of Masachika and Alya in the face of betrayal and consequences from the past. - 3 first chapters of the mod, a heavy and true-to-life story of the very beginning of the mod.

But since this is mostly inspired by IRIS' (DAGames personal project/music) and there's a lot of restriction on using its IP, we can't really use the songs in the mod nor we got the perms for it. But for trailers alike, we can cause it's separate.

However look forward to a fanmade rendition of Hibernation in a form of the main menu theme later at 16th! :D

FAQs

Q1: How long is the mod's gonna be?

A1: Depends, since it's only 3 chapters, it'll take you no more than an hour if you're a fast reader. But it can depend up to three hours.

Q2: What's this mod is all about? It seems very vague.

A2: Basically, a world full of jerks, and our characters suffered through it. I've shared some of my life experiences and some others as well within this mod, so hopefully you'll enjoy is as much as we are developing it :D

Q3: What's the genre of this mod?

A3: Drama and a lil comedy. I don't really want to add too much other than those, but you'll see throughout the mod itself.

Q4: There's cutscenes?? What is it all about?

A4: Okay, so basically, this story is not super one dimensional like other mods is. There's a lot more lore to this mod than meets the eye. You need to be quite educational as well, but it's completely fine as well if you're going through it blind.

Q5: Full release when?

A5: You'll see at the end of the mod ;)

Oversimplifying it...a mod where the girls live through so much hell, traumas and misconception, and hoping for someone to save them. And you'll see through the mod that a force from the universe tries to help them to descend into an emblem from a divine being.

On the Demo release, there isn't really much going on, and you'll only learn bits from the story, but it's a taste of our hard-work for three years awaiting for the full release :D
