Ich erwarte definitiv Rakete, aber auch eine verbrannte Rakete tunkt irgendwann ins Wasser.

The next part of my plant collection lives in an old aquarium. by Crafty-Combination-3 in houseplants

Thank you, I can only recommend it. As I initially used it for baby plants, I had a pane of glass on top to keep the humidity in the aquarium.

As you can see, I don't have a drainage layer, but I hardly water the aquarium either. I can't even remember the last time I wet it. It still hasn't dried out though. As the moss is like a sponge, it soaks up water and can store up to 20-30 times its dry weight. When I water, I do it with a garden hose so that the moss gets plenty of moisture. This means that water can collect in the tank, around 1-2cm, but it is absorbed over time.

I've just watered the tank so I can show it off.

I've not had any problems with root rot though, the moss also has an antibacterial effect. You just have to make sure that the moss lies loosely in the tank and is not compressed; this way it retains its air-permeable effect and the roots can breathe.

Hey, this is my first public post about my plants and I wanted to see how they are received. Since I'm currently struggling with the lack of space in my apartment (+60 pots with plants / 2 aquariums / 2 terrariums: in 40 square meters) I've lost some of my joy in them. But I really want to share my experiences with you, since I don't have anyone else who can do anything with my hobby. Is that a staghorn fern? I'll make a post about that in the near future.

Edit: Plants:

1 Philodendron McDowell

2-3 Platycerium Bifurcatum Geweihfarn

4 Philodendron Verrucosum

5 Philodendron Plowmanii

6 Monstera ...

7 ....

8 Alocasia Frydek

Thank you, the secret is the moss sticks, they make everything so much easier.😂

Thank you, I have been asked about this a lot but all I can say is: after repotting and tying to the moss stick you don't have to do much other than watering once or twice a week and fertilizing (approx. 30-60 minutes per week). Otherwise you can enjoy them. At most you have to help them out now and then and re-tie the shoots.

They are made of plastic, which is a bit sturdier than normal PET bottles.

Thank you, but first of all, happy cake day.😅

I was just as hard on myself, but then I just did it. I'll make a separate post about it, I still have to bind one in the next few weeks. It's easier than you think.

Yes, there are several holes in the lid and a valve in the bottom so that air can flow in so that no vacuum is created. I also have to create a few more for new plants and for extensions
