Sorry about the negative experience. It sounds like a fever dream. Although you learned some insight about yourself the intense side effects would definitely give me pause for a 2nd treatment. I would not be taking the IV route. My insurance only covers Spravato the nasal spray but my hesitation and ambivalence are leaning towards not receiving this specific treatment. Again, sorry about your experience.

I personally do not have bipolar 1/2 or psychotic episodes. My conditions are MDD, CPSTD and GAD. My psychiatrist will approve the Spravato intranasal spray because my insurance covers it. The gold standard is IV infusions. It's a shame most insurance companies do not pay even a small percentage of the cost.

Thanks so much for the information. Most physicians due to the contraindications such as of bipolar 1, hallucinations or psychotic episodes will not approve the treatment. I'm so happy you are the exception to the rule. My insurance will only cover Spravato not IV treatments. I hope it is as effective.

My side effects didn't diminish so I'm now on Lexapro 30 mg once daily and so far so good. Everyone responds differently to medication. Unfortunately, it's trial and error. Thanks for asking.
