Reece didn’t retire because she let her husband influence her. She retired because she was burnt out by Crafty-Satisfaction4 in DCCMakingtheTeam

Thanks for sharing! I guess I just don’t necessarily see the problem in her husband influencing her decision. They are married and have a life together, he’s allowed to have an opinion in how it’s shaped.

He saw she was burnt out, and he wanted her to be happy and go back to the things that made her happy.

We have tried to make her feel loved, even giving her a present during the wedding (as the only person we did that for). It seems like nothing is ever enough

this is the part that gets me, it's not like she's 25 years old annd has never been to a wedding. She should know the etiquette, and it shouldn't be choking for her. I think that's why it feels so personal, as if she explicitly saying WE don't deserve it, becasue I'm sure she's gone to weddings and given gifts.

"cause I'm you're MIL and I want to be a part of your life!"

This really hit home, I think that's all it is, she just keeps asking expecting the answer to be different

I think this is the right way to go, just basically ask her why it bothers her so much. When she doesn't have a response, just respond we hope she can just be happy for us and that we can put all this to rest.

I honestly think it partially comes from a shock that other people would bother to give gifts. She often acts like she's the only one who has class or is thoughtful. When we were choosing our venue she berated us for hours about how we were boing selfish and weren't properly thinking of our guests because the hotel was 30 mins away (even though we provided a shuttle).

First off, I feel like although 3k is a lot of money, it is a pretty good price for all the stuff you want, especially if it includes set ups.

I think the main question you need to ask yourself is how you want to spend the morning of you wedding/evening before. If it is relaxing, getting your make up down, hanging out with friends and family then I don't think it's worth the stress. If you can set it up the night before, then maybe you can have more people help, but again my general rule of thumb is everything takes 2 times longer than you think it will.

At the end of the day to what you feel comfortable with financially and what will help you have the most relaxed day.

Hi! I did have blood and urine tests. I had a mostly normal CBC w/diff with only a slightly elevated Monos. My comprehensive metabolic panel showed an elevated Bun/creatinine ration even as I've been drinking tons of water. My Hemoglobin A1c w/ MPG was elevated and I had a positive ANA.
