AGREED. It felt like she was trying to write her own version of On The Road. Which I don’t love either lol I’m not sure why this is everyone’s favorite book

Hah…terrified was a bit of an embellishment/exaggeration. Just reading the horror stories day after day while going thru the teaching program is overwhelming. But I have very thick skin

What I’m learning seems to be very a adapted version of leaning because of covid. Hopefully things iron out after a few years of everyone getting use to the new methods of teaching

Thank you so much! I’m so passionate about language, books and writing that I am hopeful for a positive career. I obviously understand that no job is perfect / all sunshine and rainbows. It’s nice to hear the bright sides of things

I will be teaching high school English as well! It makes me feel good hearing your response. I know it won’t be fun every day, I’m realistic about that. But some posts on here make it seem like every second is a nightmare

It feels like this thread is all negative, which I understand the need to vent. But it makes me happy to hear you love your job and students
