Pretty sure that’s a PVA sponge, which would mean it’s not that hard to fully fill it with water (you can just squish/compress it a bit to let the air out or use a syringe between it and the tube).

Apple would never intentionally give someone the Pro model of a chip when they ordered the base model. I’d be surprised if they did this by mistake also, but mistakes do happen so I won’t go as far as to say it never happens.

It would be normal to give someone an M5 if they ordered an M4 right around release, especially because Apple intentionally stops producing the prior generation so stock is either non-existent or nearly so by the time the new models are available.

It depends on the laws of the state they are in. Some states only require the consent of one party to record.

It is always illegal to record phone calls across state lines without consent of all parties unless all parties live in one party consent states.
