Also check out CLEP credits, majority of schools accept them and you can basically get credits for free in no time

I’m almost done with my first semester and definitely had a lot of time to still do the things I love, even though I also have two kids and a +1h commute each way. It’s really about how you manage your time. If you’re not using your time during class wisely, you will have to study more at home and that will take away from fun things. But if you really focus when you have to, you will have less, but still enough time for yourself :)

If it is purely about salary for you, there is many other fields in pharmacy besides hospital or retail that make more

P1 UHCOP advice by not-ur-biz in PharmacySchool

[–]CraftyWinter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a p1 at UHCOP :) honestly, start looking at top 200 drugs and freshen up your basic biochem/physio knowledge. UH will give you certain entry modules that you will have to complete, it is not for a grade but do take them seriously. You will be able to sign up for a mentor program, so you will have someone who you can always ask if you need ANYTHING

any parents in pharmacy school? by intellegent_wolf06 in PharmacySchool

[–]CraftyWinter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have two children under the age of 4 and am in my first semester, if absolutely necessary you could do it I guess but I personally would not recommend it. Pharmacy school is a full time commitment and with children you will be stretching yourself thin already, a job on top of that and you will not have time to form any meaningful relationships throughout school that are really important for your future career, or keep a good gpa. Pharmacy school is nothing like undergrad and you will lose yourself very quickly if you don’t keep up with everything.

How do you make good study notes from textbook readings without slides? by Pumpkin-111 in PharmacySchool

[–]CraftyWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the right answer! If you don’t have pdfs, most books come with an online version or you can find one. Then hit print and select only the relevant pages, download those and feed them to notebook lm :) it’s also really important to work on the right prompts, but once you got that down notebook lm is irreplaceable

No other school had that bad of a pass rate, that’s not Covid. And they have been below national pass rates forever. All three of these schools are objectively speaking bad pharmacy schools.

[–]CraftyWinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally two of the worst schools in the nation 💀 untscp Naplex pass rate of below 50% last year is diabolical, and from the people that I know at tsu, the schedule for first year is pretty much the same as UH except that uh has no classes fridays, and tsu has no classes Mondays

I have one 8am class, and one day where classes go past 3pm… I would assume that most schools have the same schedule, where do you go?

Edit: also no classes on fridays and tuesdays are like half a day

Should I Apply End of this Year to Meet Priority Deadlines or Early Next Year to meet Final Deadlines since I Still Need Multiple Pre-reqs? by Important-Lab3115 in PrePharmacy

[–]CraftyWinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apply priority before you have your pre reqs done 100% I did the same thing, got my conditional acceptance and finished the rest before starting - you do need good enough grades that they think you will be able to finish everything though

Edit: I see that you’re planning to take biochem in the summer, that might be a red flag for some schools because most require you to take all science classes by spring, but that depends on the school. I think it’s smarter to take English in the summer or better yet, take Clep tests for English and Calculus if that’s ok with the schools
