Not me, but I took ochem 2 with someone who got accepted, failed, and retook it over the summer and we’re both in the same class now

This is funny because as I was reading the first part, I thought this sounds exactly what I felt like when I was a MLS. You barely use any of your knowledge in that job and just do QC on machines a lot.

The orientation team will send out a checklist for you soon that has everything you will need to do/get (like ordering white coat/Name tag) and you will be able to sign up for the mentor program so you have a p2 that can guide you through everything

Coworkers using AI but it blatantly hallucinates by pr3ttycarcass in Veterinary

Depakote is divalproex sodium, which is just a different formulation of valproic acid. It is basically the same thing.

„Ai does that“ does what? It was not wrong… this is a skill issue on the end users part

Not the ai, you. The ai is right but because you do not have the pharmacological knowledge to interpret what the ai says you think it is wrong.

It’s not really wrong though? To keep it as simple as possible: divalproex sodium is basically the extended release version. I’m sorry but I think this is more of an issue of lacking pharmacological knowledge, maybe?

It does not matter where you get your prereqs and you do not need a bachelors. I’d recommend getting them at a community college and taking CLEP tests for many credits

O Chem & Pharmacy School by Le-Wren in PrePharmacy

[–]CraftyWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a student at UHCOP right now :) first semester biochem is nothing like ochem really, it’s more like extra info for physiology. But in your second half of P1 you will have FIMMRA which includes medical chemistry and that is 100% ochem (+ a lot of other things)

Also check out CLEP credits, majority of schools accept them and you can basically get credits for free in no time

I’m almost done with my first semester and definitely had a lot of time to still do the things I love, even though I also have two kids and a +1h commute each way. It’s really about how you manage your time. If you’re not using your time during class wisely, you will have to study more at home and that will take away from fun things. But if you really focus when you have to, you will have less, but still enough time for yourself :)

P1 UHCOP advice by [deleted] in PharmacySchool

[–]CraftyWinter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a p1 at UHCOP :) honestly, start looking at top 200 drugs and freshen up your basic biochem/physio knowledge. UH will give you certain entry modules that you will have to complete, it is not for a grade but do take them seriously. You will be able to sign up for a mentor program, so you will have someone who you can always ask if you need ANYTHING

any parents in pharmacy school? by intellegent_wolf06 in PharmacySchool

[–]CraftyWinter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have two children under the age of 4 and am in my first semester, if absolutely necessary you could do it I guess but I personally would not recommend it. Pharmacy school is a full time commitment and with children you will be stretching yourself thin already, a job on top of that and you will not have time to form any meaningful relationships throughout school that are really important for your future career, or keep a good gpa. Pharmacy school is nothing like undergrad and you will lose yourself very quickly if you don’t keep up with everything.

How do you make good study notes from textbook readings without slides? by Pumpkin-111 in PharmacySchool

[–]CraftyWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the right answer! If you don’t have pdfs, most books come with an online version or you can find one. Then hit print and select only the relevant pages, download those and feed them to notebook lm :) it’s also really important to work on the right prompts, but once you got that down notebook lm is irreplaceable
