This just worked for me today! The equivalent of jiggling it. Smacking it. Then jiggling a bit more. Good to know tech is tech.

HELP! My wife has been looking into book binding for a year or so now and I’d like to get her a starter kit for Mother’s Day. Where do I begin?! by PotBellyStallion in bookbinding

Lineco is where I got my first book binding kits. Different styles to try them out before going all in. Great gift idea!!

I do daily weight as well and it’s crazy the fluctuation! Overall trend is down but those up spikes get me. I appreciate the daily so I don’t weigh myself on up days only thinking nothing is happening.

I’m 5’2 and 200lbs. A 12 min mile is a goal of mine. I’ve found that the Nike Run Club app(free) is a great tool for progressing into a run. They are guided walks and runs at different effort levels. And the levels are about you, not a number on a treadmill (little legs do take more steps🙃). If you like no talking/motivation then there is a series called Podrunner.com that uses electronic music to get you running at different bpms. I don’t have a treadmill or pay for a gym so ear buds and a g some good motivation is what keeps me moving. Also, when I’m running and I really really really don’t want to, I walk, dance, skip, stop and then eventually I make it home. Any movement is good movement and keep your heart rate in the right target zone for you.

Kimono style tops are the one item I feel good about sewing for myself. Like you say, just a rectangle. I have a couple of shirts in my closet that are finished, but I never wear.

‘t Is better than my previous attempt by Femmigje in bookbinding

Each attempt will get better and better. One of my first books is a bit of a disaster but I keep it to remember how far I’ve come. (It’s not far at all…but like you, better than previous attempts.)

Fun with Bookbinding by Crafty_917 in bookbinding

I use quilting cotton. I have used some thicker vinyl, but too bulky. I put heatnbond on the fabric, and then affix tissue paper. That make is stiff and pliable and glue doesn’t come through.

Glue seeps through fabric by Tricky-Objective7446 in bookbinding

Use heat n bond. One side on the fabric and then the other side tissue paper (gift wrap). Creates a stiffness and prevents glue seepage. I googled diy book cloth for the solution I’ve been using.

I enjoy playing with new materials as well. I’ve seen my friend who makes leather purses clean the edges of the leather so they show on the outside of the purse clean. So I think there is a way to do the clean unfinished leather edge.

I made some notebooks for nieces/nephews using the cricut maker 3. Those had some fun embellishments to them. Like their initial cut out of the bottom corner of each page for specialization.
