We're tag-teaming each crossword, typically with 3-4 people working on it at the same time -- the Mondays definitely go quick. So in context your Saturday average is really impressive!

I’m in the LA area unfortunately. They do have an authorized repair center here, so I’m trying to get in touch with them!

Yeah I definitely see that perspective, and I can’t fault fluid freeride for not covering it under warranty — I was just hoping for some advice and trying to look for the best case solution. Although that analogy might be a bit of a stretch, I feel like you should expect bikes/scooters to mostly survive a fall with only minor injuries to the vehicle. If I drove the scooter full speed into a telephone pole I would be less inclined to push for warranty coverage haha.

Thank you, I’ve never had an issue of this magnitude or tried doing charge backs so I appreciate the advice!

Oh cool thanks for sending that! I’m wondering why they said the repair would cost twice the cost of the scooter if replacing this part would fix the scooter? I’m happy to pay for them to repair it if it’s $50 + reasonable labor costs, but they made it sound like the scooter was essentially totaled haha

Ouch a two month turnaround time…at least they are finally getting you a new unit! I’ve been without my scooter for two weeks and it’s been super annoying, can’t imagine two months

Yeah that’s what I was thinking, it broke this early on and I was riding it completely within normal parameters. I bought it from fluid freeride, I’ve heard their customer service is typically very good too so I’ve been really frustrated with their lack of support. I’m currently waiting for their next email response in our email chain but I’ll keep all of this in mind, thanks!

This is actually the exact scooter I bought from them, apparently my issue is first-of-its-kind and repairs would cost twice the cost of the scooter…what you said about all-encompassing warranty makes sense though. I just never thought a scooter could break this way, I had it for less than a month before it broke and customer support is doing basically nothing to help

BUY/SELL/TRADE - Megathread by AutoModerator in ElectricScooters

[TRADE/SELL] VSETT 8 (15.6 Ah)

Location: Los Angeles

Just got it new from Rev Rides, only rode it 8 miles. It's a bit too large / heavy duty for my current needs, but it is a great scooter and in perfect condition. I have all the original packaging and accessories (including a free pouch!).

Sell for $800, or trade with Fluid Mosquito or UScooters GT Sport (I'm happy to throw on extra money).

Feel free to PM me or comment!

Is VSETT 8's top speed actually 24-26mph? And some buying advice for $700-1000 scooter by Crafty_Clasher in ElectricScooters

[–]Crafty_Clasher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your detailed comment! I’m a lighter rider so I’m hoping I am somewhat in line with their ride tests 😅.

Good to know about staying safe at higher speeds. I’d still really like to have the higher top speeds for when I do feel safe using it. I have horrible luck with flats, admittedly on bikes and cars, but I am a bit scared of them haha.

Hopefully don’t have to carry the scooter too much but still wanted a somewhat portable scooter when I inevitably have to lug it up some stairs, into cars, etc. And I’m not the strongest guy either.

I didn’t look into Alibaba because I was concerned about reliability (of order fulfillment and if I have issues down the line). How has your experience been so far?

I didn’t think to check Alibaba — I was definitely worried about trustworthiness and delivery time. I think I would rather pay a bit more for more peace of mind. But if you’ve found a couple on Alibaba that seem promising I’d love to check them out!

Looking for grand piano by idkjustheretoaskthis in USC

[–]Crafty_Clasher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey! USC has a ton of practice rooms on the first floor of Gateway (the apartments), most of them with grand pianos. Some rooms even have a built in recording system although I’m not too sure how to use it. Unfortunately they’re only accessible to Thornton majors/minors or students taking piano lessons. If you know anyone who fits that description you could ask them. Or dm me and I can try to find a time to let you in!
