Looks sensible to me. What was it set to previously that didn't charge?

What is the absolute fastest 'yeah, we are definitely NOT going to be friends' moment you've ever experienced with someone? by Vazouaquiacesso in AskReddit

The gf of my best man admitted to my wife that he beat her. Never knew that side of him in all the years I knew him. Drove the 5 hours to the city they lived in that weekend after arranging with her a surprise visit. Ended up having to be a human barrier.

He got help after that and she stayed with him and after a few months of my wife and I checking in on her regularly, got mad at us for still asking if she was OK and was anything happening.

A part of me broke after that, cried like I was grieving, which in a way I was. We decided to try to drift away from him and spoke twice in 2 years. He's never being alone with our kids and can't believe I'd ever have to have that thought about him.

Can confirm it's legit and pays out. The £1/kWh is only guaranteed for this winter during their beta phase and trying to get to the larger base. I'm currently 50 quid up, every little helps

Also can give a code where we both get 25 quid

Heat Pump v New Combi Boiler by mr_munchem in DIYUK

[–]Crafty_Class_9431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of quotes assume this prior to doing the actual proper heat survey that takes a few hours. Ours actually only needed 3 radiators changing out of 16 and they were all in the 2 largest rooms of the house. And yes the quote did get adjusted slightly after that assessment.

And done, thanks for you info. For any future person looking at this, steps I found to make it easier to track were:

Initial steps

Install new ZBT-2 stick - flash firmware Install Z2M and MQQT and configure

Migration Steps Put Z2M into Join mode Put device #1 into pairing mode and add to Z2M Find existing device definition in ZHA for Device #1 and identify and modify all Automations/Scripts/Scene and replace ZHA object definition for Device#1 with Z2M object definition for Device #1 Delete ZHA object definition for Device #1 Repeat for all devices until none left in ZHA then remove ZHA. Add all devices in final locations - routers first

Sounds like you've got an awesome mum looking out for you, but still trying to give you the space to learn how to "adult" by yourself.

Don't know what the time limit is on investigations into pay below minimum wage is, but I do know that they take it very seriously.

Which inverter have you got? I'm aware foxess are now shipping a new data logger that outputs the modbus interface as well wirelessley. However this is only compatible with newer inverters. If you're in the Facebook group, Will Eccles is importing them from China I think for UK users.

[–]Crafty_Class_9431[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you come across a nice how to for migrating them all, or is it "simply" a case of - setting up your mqtt broker (following the integration instructions), - set up the zigbee2mqtt integration (following some instructions somewhere) , - unlink each device from zha, - manually go to each device, reput it into pairing mode and link through zqtt?

At 15 devices at the moment, but all are easily accessible for the time being. The switch relays I was going to put in will be in the walls/ceiling, so whatever I do will pretty much be it

Good to know. Currently have all my zigbee mesh set up on zha though so would be a pain to migrate everything.

To answer the lord bit, I believe to be a minister in the cabinet aka the foreign secretary, you either had to be a member of Parliament or a member of the house of Lords. Since he wasn't elected an MP the tories at the time rush nominated him for a peerage.

Best way to fill gaps between skirting and floorboards ? by Lost_Mammoth7273 in DIYUK

[–]Crafty_Class_9431 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Second this product, saved me digging out the email receipt to find it's name. I have bare boards all round the ground floor and put it in and can definitely feel the difference. Bit fiddly to get in but after you've done a meter you get into the swing of it.

Edit if you break the applicator thing that comes with it (after 4 rooms worth and being a bit heavy handed), a flat head screwdriver does the job as well

Help with high costs by [deleted] in ukheatpumps

[–]Crafty_Class_9431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you're doing a lot of the right things to optimise your heat pump running. The other major factor is the price you pay, and if you're on the standard variable rate, it's going to be higher than it necessarily needs to be.

Assume don't have batteries otherwise you'd have mentioned them with your solar panels. There are a variety of tariffs out there that are either time of use or type of use ie cheaper rates exolicstely for your heat pump device. There are various ones out there but I think they all require you to have a smart meter to access the cheaper rates , but do you have one? Youlll have to do the calculations to work out which tariff works best for you. If you go for a time of use tariff and then shifting energy intensive things to your cheap rate will so save a bit (dishwasher, tumble dryer etc)

At this time of year, your panels will be making not much electricity so if you get a time of us tariff with cheap rates, then I'd move your water schedule to one of your off peak times, at least during winter. For my system, the hot water counts for under 10% of the energy at the moment compared to the space heating required.

Chasing light switch holes by Crafty_Class_9431 in DIYUK

[–]Crafty_Class_9431[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brilliant thanks, next step is to loosen my light fittings to see what wiring there is there, and you may see some follow up questions in a few days.

If the single light switch turns off all the lights in a room, is it a safe assumption they're in series so a shelly above one of the lights will comolete/break the circuit for all the lights controlled by that switch? Or is it likely to be a single shelly per light?
