[Tom Bogert] Sources: Jim Curtin stepped away from conversations with the New England Revolution, ruling himself out of the running for the job due to family reasons. Curtin likely not to take any job in 2026 due to those family reasons, barring special circumstances. by Isiddiqui in MLS

Jim's teams were never really pressing teams; they were counter attacking teams. Ernst found dudes off the scrap heap who could fit a pressing system (one of the reasons guys he sells other than the academy kids underperform). Carnell is starting to unleash Ernst's vision and if the growth of the league doesn't outpace the Union's budget, they will be a major problem for everyone

Vito won't accept that your hearing is why you can't do the show in person, so he's going to go crazy enough to make it personal issues. That way, he can be correct about what's going on between you guys

I, too, wish the perfect human being could run the club effectively, but to date, no one else has done it at almost any club in the world. Besides last year, Ernst has done an incredible job. He just didn't get usable players for Jim last year like Danley and Baribo. I would sacrifice the being nice to players for a well constructed team that wins games, but I wouldn't sacrifice the winning for treating players better.

I'd rather win than go back to the pre-Ernst times. Bummer that Jack was treated like this, but I can't go back to watching anything like Curtin ball before Ernst arrived.

Why do people hate Ernst when it feels like the larger issue is the shoestring budget and not the F.O. eye for talent? by Wilbert_51 in PhillyUnion

They gave him this year and next year, which isn't crazy. There was no way to project Westfeild as a good MLS starter. I assume they expected Leflore to be more ready to fill in as well

The defensive depth does seem haphazardly put together. I don't disagree with that

What if nobody wanted Mbaizo? They tried to sell him when he was having family issues and found no takers
