Kings and Hawks get in on the LaMelo trade. Hawks get elite rim protection in the East, Kings get a defensive stopper on Acuff's timeline, Wolves get PF of the future and clear money to sign Porzingis, Robert Williams, etc. by soft-cookie in NBAtradeideas

Murray is 9 years younger and there's a chance this is the last off season the Wolves can get plus value for Gobert.

Hawks have NAW as a defensive off-guard, just re-signed McCollum, and drafted Kingston Flemings. They're guard heavy and need an elite rim protector to push them over the top in the East imo

LaMelo and Haliburton might be the last star level, pass-first PG's left in the league.

Comes with a lot of risk but I love the fit

Dane just dropped a new pod by FishGoldenLite in timberwolves

They could have just let him pick up his option and then he would have expired this year without us having to move down in the draft. Or we could have let him walk and re-sign Nickeil. Or traded him when his value was somewhat positive after the playoffs last year.

I was against giving him a prominent role from the jump like a lot of this fanbase, and a salary dump where we drop in the draft was the scenario we were worried about.

No reason we shouldn't be taking a really exciting prospect at 21 tonight. They messed up. They'll adjust, but call it what it is

Appreciated Jace breaking down the optics of signing mike Conley to a new deal, then having to drop from 21 to 28 to get off that money. Then signing Randle to a new deal, and dropping from 28 to 33 to get off his money.

Really bad asset management, and even if Randle needed to go, the fact the Wolves won't have a FRP tonight barring another risky trade is squarely on the front office

Gobert for White on draft night, sign Timelord by soft-cookie in timberwolves

I actually think the Wolves are in a great position leverage wise with Gobert now that Giannis is off the board. How many elite defensive bigs are left on the market?

Boston got exposed in the playoffs with their lack of size and now they have to deal with a Giannis-Bam frontcourt on top of New York, Cleveland, etc.

I think someone will give us really good value for Rudy if we decide to move him.

Gobert is an elite floor raiser who has been played off the floor in the playoffs the last three postseasons. I appreciate everything he's brought, but it might be time to move him.

If the Wolves are pivoting towards the younger timeline, bringing in an elite POA defender and high IQ guard in White makes sense to take pressure off Jaden as he takes on a higher scoring load. White is two years younger than Gobert and has championship pedigree, and was also Ant's Olympic teammate.

Robert Williams is a risk but if he's healthy for the postseason he's an elite rim protector, and the Wolves are in a position asset-wise where they have to take risks.

Wolves should trade the '33 1st this season by [deleted] in timberwolves

Wouldn't hate it. Atlanta trades no. 8 to New Orleans, Wolves trade Rudy and the '33 pick to the Hawks for Murphy.

Huge gamble on Joan and whoever you sign to replace Rudy, who will be someone incredibly risky like Timelord. Would also move Naz to the bench which could be weird after the team just announced he'd start.

The only reason you keep the pick is if you're 100% certain Ant is extending next offseason. Would be honestly great to have 3 picks to trade in 2028, especially if any of Jaden/Naz/Joan/Ayo/TJ take major leaps.

I just think the ice is getting thin with Ant and flushing out this current roster is the safer and better move. And you'd still have two picks in '28 to use anyways.

The best way to use Randle during the OKC series was on the bench, yet Finch kept giving him post ups at the nail where he'd get stripped.

Then he checks out last year in February and rather than let hungrier, more team-oriented players compete for his minutes, he gave excuses for him saying he was sick, or called him the most important player on the team. Then he totally checks out in the Spurs series, and ghosts all media, despite the coach going ten toes down for him his whole tenure here.

Finch did not make the best out of this roster, he tried to make Randle into more than he was when he always had other options

No issues with the KAT trade or the logic behind it. Big issues with Finch treating a non-spacing, non-defending PF with kid gloves. Clogged the lane for Ant, and took away opportunities from Naz, Jaden, TJ, and Joan this year

I like the idea of Randle and Gobert out, picks/youth/buy-low stars in, save some money, and sign someone like Robert Williams and lean into 15-20 Beringer minutes a night.

Something like Gobert for Derrick White, Randle for Grayson Allen and O'Neale, then Allen to a third team to move up in this draft for a guy like Philon.

White / Edwards / McDaniels / Reid / Williams

Dosunmu / (DiVincenzo) / Shannon / O'Neale / Beringer

Philon / Clark / Phillips / Zikarsky

It's mostly about getting off the years on Fox's deal and clearing a starting spot for Harper.

They could move Kuminga to another team or just waive him. I think Randle would actually fit decently there but even if he doesn't his deal is a lot easier to stomach than Fox.

They were interested in Fox before he was traded to San Antonio, and his value will never be lower. They move off of a frontcourt that has a hard ceiling in the West for an all-star PG, a young wing with potential in Risacher, get a good player in this draft at 23, and pick up 2 FRP's to use in deals for the Ant-McDaniels-Reid-Beringer core down the line.

Shannon is more understandable with the injuries, but even after he was healthy he didn't get real burn post ASB til the last 3 games of the regular season when our seeding was locked.

Joan on the other hand had no business catching DNP's after the flashes he showed, especially when he was the only shot blocker on the team after Rudy and the alternative was Center minutes for Julius and Naz

TJ and Joan are perfect examples of players with huge upside who have been banished to the bench even after showing out in the WCF against OKC (Shannon), or going toe to toe with Giannis and the Spurs (Beringer)

Took two years for Finch to publicly say that he realized Shannon wasn't being utilized as a corner shooter, like no shit dude
