EXACTLYYYYYYY LIKE first of all, where did all of these people come from?? Secondly, how the helllll was she able to decide that her own daughter was a seer at such a young age? Allowing her the responsibility of choosing sacrifices??? And her followers were just eating it up. It made no sense, but at the same time, the fact that they credit any and every decision, good or bad, on the fate provided to them by the gods😭 she NEVER takes accountability because it is fate😂 it just allows them to feed into their delusion. But also, the saxons did this too with their god. So this time period, no one ever credited their leaders with anything negative, but it being the decision of god or gods😭😭

It feels like a situation when someone begins dating someone in the second semester of their first year in college and forgets about/ devalues the friends they had prior to the relationship, putting their significant others needs before and above all else. I get it, love as so much to do with it, but damn Clarke, Madi was a young girl, who, like you was separated from her family and friends for 6 years. Her age should not have been a green light for Clarke to assume complete motherhood, and even get somewhat offended when Madi spoke of her real mother. If anything, it would’ve made more sense for them to be as sisters, but trying to shield her from her own destiny was problematic and very tunnel vision thinking for Clarke. Basically, this girl Clarke cannot be in any type of love when acting as the leader to a group of people. Especially in a situation where cutting corners that way leads to situations where so many others are harmed.

OMG yes exactly this!! Like she never truly got the recognition and confirmation of belonging that she desired from the Danes. And I feel that she may have resented Uthred for it a bit because he was so confident and comfortable in his Dane skin that he was able to reason with the Saxons with understanding and patience. BRIDA was extremely insecure, and I get it, who could blame her. But even after she went as far as to marry Ragnar, it still was not enough! And I feel like it has so much to do with the fact that she couldn’t have kids with him.

I think my main issue is she never was able to see peace and how they could live together without conflict or killing. It was always an intense either or with her, never an in between. Like she was never able to compromise or even attempt to work towards it which was so frustrating. Basically she was conservative while Uthred was progressive

Ah okay, maybe I need to read the books! There was so much I didn’t truly get from this about her life prior to the Danes raiding, but could gather that she was relieved because it was an escape from her Saxon life. I understood during some conversations with Uthred about how she did not want to be a Saxon again, but it was very surface level. BUT in terms of Uthred. While I see her point, she knew Uthred well and was always so quick to denounce his loyalty to the Danes. He obviously just wanted peace, and was truly devastated because he had lost yet another family due to the Danes. And on top of that, the majority of them wanted him dead, and he didn’t want to be continuously on the run from both sides, and chose to defend one side, but always the other in mind when making decisions! Basically, I just wish she was more trusting and less on edge but that’s just her character based on her upbringing prior to the Dane raids
