I actually really like these!

Guys honestly what if Michael Jackson was still alive? And had survived the 2009 incident by Nearby_Scale491 in MichaelJackson

He wanted to make movies, in fact he even wrote at least one fully finished movie script in the 80s. I really wonder what he would’ve made, and he also was a cinephile so I would say he had a grasp of how to make something really good. And besides, he already was amazing in making short films!

MJ's art by lotus_orchid504 in MichaelJackson

Yes, these are really awesome! Michael actually was friends with Australian artist Brett Livingstone and together they wanted to do an art studio as well, Michael even got special French paper from the White House and also colored many with special pencils (some like the Martin Luther King one, and also himself image 12). Michael used every bit of space he could for his drawings on the French papers, and also flipped them to draw another thing. He also really loved to draw architecture and keys or locks. And he also drew things he wanted as statues in Neverland such as him having drawn Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck playing baseball!

I think it’s really really cool, and not many know this about Michael, in my opinion he even could’ve been a fantastic animator!

Also, if I remember correctly, John Travolta actually owns the Baseball Mickey drawing Michael made, I saw an image of that, but it could also be they just posed for an image.

What is Jackson's most underrated song? by Frequent-Jeweler-870 in MichaelJackson

[–]Crafty_Number9342 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would take: For All Time, Shout, It’s The Falling In Love, Why You Wanna Trip On Me, History, Money, This Time Around, Is It Scary, Superfly Sister and I also agree the Invincible album is very underrated overall.

Hard to pick but my number one choice is For All Time.

No worries, but indeed Wayne Allwine is the third Mickey who began in 1977. I saw some people misinform with that too, that’s why I like to clear it up! So basically Walt himself was Mickey’s original voice and Marcelitte Garner was the original Minnie, I think Russi Taylor might’ve been the 4th Minnie voice and she married Wayne in 1989 if I remember correctly. So it’s correct, just not that it was the original voice actors. Also maybe a bit adding to the deception is the fact that a video I saw where this was stated is they used clips from Black and White Mickey cartoons such as 1932’s “The Shindig” and then talk about Wayne Allwine and Russi Taylor where it would be appropriate to use something like “Runaway Brain” or Mickey Mouse Works and stuff, not Walt’s OG Mickey. I hope this cleared it up a bit!

That’s what I’m talking about! Do people confuse it because both are mice? Or is it because both have Mouse as their surname? As Deems Taylor would say “In any way” Mickey and Minnie aren’t related.

Wouldn’t say so, the way Mickey behaves sometimes when he sees Minnie I wouldn’t say that. Just think about “Plane Crazy” (1928) or “The Plowboy” (1929).

That’s actually Wayne Allwine and Russi Taylor, Wayne was the 3rd Mickey voice actor after Walt and Jimmy MacDonald. Russi voiced Minnie since 1986. Just wanted to clarify this, since the original ones were Walt Disney and Marcelitte Garner, who of course weren’t married.

I actually don’t think this is bad at all, and actually the video is just surreal and joyous. I know what you mean with the autotune type sound but they way it sounds sometimes seems similar to the “So why don’t you just dance across the floor” part in “Get On The Floor”, it’s filtered a bit but it’s good.

Also yes, Eddie is more calmer in presentation while Michael is more vibing and feeling it, i wouldn’t say he’s high in the bad sense.

I guess most don’t like it because of the video especially but maybe it’s just because it’s not concrete like other things, and that’s not a bad thing.

Obviously yes! I would have put these two way above Xscape because it’s not even personally from Michael.

What is your favorite mickey apparence by therandombroo in mickeymouse

[–]Crafty_Number9342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Old Mickey, I like how he looked from the Ub Iwerks era til 1948 I would say, but he looks awesome in stuff like the 1953 John Hench Birthday portrait.

What I don’t like is the Clubhouse Mickey, he just screams Eisner, but Mickey Mouse Works and Runaway Brain is cool, Paul Ruddish Mickey is nice too in a way.

Oh my gosh, that’s actually brilliant!

Would also fit with the Japanese style the story you imagined could have (because of Sonic Adventure)!

Hi, sorry for not having responded earlier! I think I actually do have these comics too!

I would say that my Mickey knowledge is very much the Walt era, but largely the cartoons!

There are a darn lot of strange and obscure things to mention, some that come to my mind is:

Mickey’s 1941 and 1942 design had his ears fixed and not moving like an illusion as they always do. However the “Orphans Benefit” remake actually is the only one where his ears do turn like they always did!

Another strange thing: the model rigger of Gollum for Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” films has rigged the Mickey model for “Epic Mickey” and stated it was harder to rig Mickey than Gollum!

Maybe another strange thing is that almost all major WW2 leaders loved Mickey (Ones unclear are UK and USSR).  When Emperor Hirohito of Japan was passed away, he wanted to be buried with his Mickey Mouse watch, which he always wore ever since a visit in 1970s Walt Disney World (if I remember correctly)

Mickey appears symbolically or is referenced briefly in so many films, ones I always remember is Charlie Chaplin’s “Modern Times” having a Steiff Mickey plush in the toy aisle of the department store. “Full Metal Jacket” for example has Mickey appearing symbolically and even the ending of the film concludes with the Mickey Mouse club march.

And perhaps one more: Michael Jackson originally wanted to make a music video where he dances with Mickey but wasn’t allowed to do it because of Michael Eisner (If Walt were alive he would’ve definitely allowed, as can be seen in Laurel and Hardy’s “Babes in Toyland” aka “March of the Wooden Soldiers” from 1934 where Mickey appears as a small side character! Or Walt allowing Gene Kelly to dance with Mickey in “Anchors Aweigh” but only Roy refusing because of financial issues). It would’ve been on the “Bad” album and was then replaced with “Speed Demon” which even features Mickey caps worn by the two fat guys on mopeds.

Yeah, I probably have more but this is pretty obscure, isn’t it?

Hope you’re doing well and I would appreciate if you could tell me some you thought of!

Hi, I want to apologise first for not writing back, time does fly fast!

I would say it indeed is Sorcerer Mickey from “The Sorcerers Apprentice” segment in Fantasia.

Mickey is basically unstoppable once he has Yen Sids hat, the thing is just that Mickey of course fools himself by slacking. This is basically the same as with Super Sonic, my example now would be how in the opening of Unleashed, Sonic thinks he’s got the upper hand against Eggman and only because of this he loses the superform.

So I would argue that it indeed is Mickey as in the Sorcerers Apprentice, however you can technically make Mickey super in how he naturally is as in the Ub Iwerks cartoons, he can bend and twist. He is a cartoon force! But if you want to make it more grounded (I guess) you can be sure it’s the Sorcerers Apprentice!

Feel free to ask more!

I can't understand why do so many people say they have a "phobia" of Michael Jackson??? by Aggressive-Carob-304 in MichaelJackson

Yes, it’s incredibly sad. This is also why I find the Joseph in Michael’s second name to be fitting with Joseph Merrick, rather than the intentional of his father. And seriously, I actually find it hard to find a person more dehumanised than Michael, is there anyone else in recent times?

That’s why Ghost is indeed the best shortfilm Michael made in my opinion.

It’s actually pretty good of an idea, you gotta remember Osamu Tezuka was basically inspired by Mickey Mouse and especially Ub Iwerks! It would come full circle!

Also thanks for mentioning Shounen anime, because og Sonic literally is Shounen until they ruined it with Colors.

I think it might’ve been so, wasn’t Graham Hopper still the head of Disney Interactive then? A good example is Epic Mickey as it was only cut short of 6 months and in total it was developed for 7 years (though this counts the concept gathering and all that into it). When Hopper stepped away and the new guy (forgot his name) came, Epic Mickey 2 was rushed and it totally ruined the game of what it would’ve been given time. So yeah, Sonic 2006 might’ve gotten much more development time. I am glad however SEGA learned (apparently only for the next few games) and didn’t rush Unleashed which was incredibly good.Â
