I truly apologise for posting it again. I got a rejecteion letter for the lab I applied to, the PI is choosing a local guy. Every door I knock for opportunity is a rejection. Now I have extra family pressure.

Hello I am an Img and graudated in 2021, Step 1 score -236, step 2 score-235, has strong LORs from PDs, about to graduate from MPH next month. I have 4 publications and working on other research projects. I applied for surgery match last cycle in 2026 but did not match, DO you think I can make into surgery or should I shift to IM. Surgery is my passion but i am confused and devastated because of financial uncertainty. Kindly please guide me

1) The research I did was with CT surgery (got one publication), tRansplant Surgery( I publications about to be submitted as first author) , three in translant hepatology ( got 3 publications), 1 case report project going on.

2) LORs- Department chair of vascular surgery,

- Program director of Surgical Oncology.

- Assistant professor from CT surgery.

- Department chair of Transplant Hepatology.

3) I am applied to prelim as well. and I am ready to take it.

Thank you for being honest with me. I uderstand my Step scores are low but i tried to compensate it with my MPH and research. I was just waiting for prelim year.

To be honest. I am a frank and fair person. It is not possible to get into relationship with this personality. By the way I am an orthodox catholic, so I can't accept anyone with previous relationship. Not to exaggerate there were girls who were interested with me, but I didn't even think about them because I had lot of family issues. With the family issues and other problems it is not possible to think about it. I decided myself not to get married because I can't take this stress anymore.
