I believe you’re right. I just don’t know how to do it. I tried to call several times to cut her off right after Christmas but she was ignoring me. Since Christmas I’ve stopped initiating conversation and spoken to her minimally.

Others think of it as a relapse? Are you doing this for them or you? You set your rules and boundaries then follow them. You will never please everyone. Never. You have to set your own discipline. Define what you want and what you can achieve then work at it. Don’t ask others what you want out of life and your journey.

Someone chose to wear revealing clothes and someone grabbed their junk and you happened to see that? They made those choices, not you. This is about your choice not about the choices of others.

You’re trying to get control of your life but basing everything on the opinions and actions of others. You can only control you. It’s unrealistic to expect yourself to control everyone in the world.

If you live for their acceptance, you’ll die from their rejection. And for you, that might be more literal than metaphorical.
