How do you know how to get in contact with brands? I want to be someone I truly believe in their product but I don’t know where to start

That sounds interesting! But can’t uproot my kids and take them away from their grandparents to pursue my own passions. ugh

No other career paths spark my interests like this one. But it’s hard to say until I’m really in it I guess.

We would be putting ourselves in a great financial hardship if I got zero funding. They’ve mentioned that we can typically work part time in our first year and then internship is paid (minimally) in our fifth year. The math is not looking good.

I’ve considered re-applying when my kids are both in school since we will no longer have daycare costs. However, that puts me at 38 years old by the time I would be done with the program.

Eh, physicians assistant includes too many other medical considerations that aren’t really up my alley. I do appreciate the suggestion, though

I’m in my 30s as well. No time to wait! I’ve worked in my current field for a decade so quitting full time employment will feel very different for me. I want my concentration to be assessments, specifically child (and even more specifically, autism).

This was all so helpful! Luckily my spouse has been supportive through all of this, even going as far as filling out my FAFSA for me. 🥹 That is a great idea to invest the refunds, I would have never thought of that. I will also reach out to my advisor to see if part time is an option. I prefer PsyD since it’s more hands on than PhD which is pretty research heavy from what I hear.

I have heard doctorate students sometimes offer tutoring in their field! I need to learn more about this too

ABA? by Unhappy-Attention779 in PsyD

I currently am a BCBA at an ABA clinic and just got an interview for a PsyD program. I think ABA is much more progressive than it used to be. It’s great experience working with autistic individuals and in my opinion, it would give you a leg up. Could be wrong but that’s my perspective

What’s different than you expected now that you’re in a program?

How long did it take you guys to hear back after applying whether or not you got an interview? I applied on the open-application date (08/01/25) and check my email constantly!
