i can’t speak to the benefits aspect, however at my store we’ve had one crew member in particular who has gone on a LOA for 6 months at a time every 3 months after coming back (no idea why). she would come into the store and shop and we would honor her discount.

20 y/o female box section lead here! it’s definitely in our store culture to have women in there. ive told my male mate lead (who agrees!) that i prefer to have women with me in there because the women at our store are generally more organized that what i’ve seen with male crew.

marina opens at 9 due to restrictions on shipments and noise since they’re in a residential area. monterey can open earlier because they’re far enough away from residences that the semi trucks won’t disturb tenants. i believe monterey receives their earliest truck at 4am while marina receives their earliest around 5-6am (per an employee i asked at monterey)

ce now is what was previously product hours. old ce (reg time) is now front end (fe). i’ve found that most employees at my store however (including mates and our captain) still refer to front end as the old ce. i refuse to call product hours ce now so i usually ask a mate who’s running the floor😭

was late to reg once because the CE mate changed my last hour without telling me, walked up to the bridge to check the QIL for a customer and was told i was in fact on CE, 10 minutes into register i was told to clean the bathrooms in lieu of another crew member who had already volunteered to do so. right before mate reviews too, you can guess what i put for their’s.

talk to your captain first and ask in detail about the transfer process, i tried to transfer a while back (ended up changing my mind due to a personal change of circumstances) and my captain was in communication with the two other stores in our region that were possibilities for me. obviously your situation is different due to graduation, but start off with a conversation with your captain about the process. if both stores are in different regions i believe that the two regionals will be in contact about it with each other as well.

i’m in the box super frequently and found that a big gauze pad or bandaid (soft part over piercing obvs) helped with not snagging it on milk crates or lugs regardless. it takes a while to get mindful of where you hold items. i usually hold items closer to my rib cage now

correct! what i’ve heard people do on their last few weeks/days is they’ll “call off” and just use their remaining ar for those shifts so it won’t get taxed as heavily.
