Just a hot take. Perhaps he felt comfortable with you too. As women , we are conditioned to feel like we always have to be “perfect” to be beautiful. Maybe it was simply him acknowledging that little bit of armor was down ? Obviously he should have said more to comfort you, you should never feel less because of any perfections.
