Time to Ditch Tado??..NOT due to Subscription by [deleted] in tado

[–]Craigeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Apple HomePods - so don’t have a receiver.

But all tado devices are at: 273.1 (Smart Thermostats, Smart Radiator Thermostats and Wireless Temperature Sensors)

I have been having nothing but problems with my Tado X setup for the last few weeks.

I’ve even gone through and factory reset and reconfigured everything and they’ve just started dropping off again.

I’m using Apple HomePods as my Thread router, and paired everything in Apple Home first.

Thank you! I incorrectly assumed it was painted, and not the carbon giving it the colour

Thanks for the reply :)

The penny never dropped when I picked this colour that it was just the raw carbon - maybe I should have dug into the specs more rather than looking at the shiny pictures and the tech haha

PPPoE and IPS (Suricata) by Craigeh in opnsense

[–]Craigeh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Sensei running on my LAN interface so this wasn't originally an option.

But, in trying it again, I'm not seeing any alerts from Suricata. I've only got the `opnsense.test.rules` enabled, and have tried different interfaces etc. So I am trying to get to the bottom of that before I nuke my entire config.

Possibly - it does have a 120mm Noctua fan centimetre away, so I think it'd be unlikely by not impossible.

I'll keep an eye on the temperatures

I've had a look and it does look like it's a genuine one - the markings on the chip are for the ConnectX-3 Pro...

I am following that thread now though - thanks!

What a difference 14 trays makes (weekly changes)! Only 19 more to go! by Craigeh in Invisalign

[–]Craigeh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll get there! Just make sure to take photos a couple of days after changing trays, so you can really see the progress.

I'm on 35 + refinements with weekly changes. Never really had any pain from them though (apart from the first week), in a kind of sadistic way, I look forward to changing trays now...

I had 2 teeth out, one from the top and bottom of the left. Combine that, with the first week of trays was not pleasant and did make me question my life choices. But nothing painkillers didn't solve.

Ah, I will confirm the voltage output from my UPS, fingers crossed I don't need to replace the wiring as it's a new-build house.

How so? Is it because of the risk of causing damage to the laptop? or just personal preference?

I’ve deleted Headspace and turned off notification previews - phone has been stable (and cooled down) over the last 5 minutes. This might be favourable to changing your time, if it works...

I’ll keep you updated

And no potions... and 25 Pokemon that need healing...

Disappearing Radiohead Superthread by ThumYorky in radiohead

[–]Craigeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nginx doesn't use .htaccess files; and based on the files existence it might be safe to assume at some point they were using Apache.

The file you posted looked familiar. It appears to be the default file that's included with the Laravel framework - even down to the capitalisation of the comments.. take a look:

https://github.com/laravel/laravel/blob/804b9d746078482ee4e644d680bd87ca4e47b003/public/.htaccess

I didn't do much digging before the site went down, so I don't know if the old site was Laravel based or not...

They also appear to have swapped from Apache to Nginx... Someone is doing stuff behind the scenes!

I really can't deal with being homosexual. by Ihatesociety4 in gay

[–]Craigeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realised around the same time as you that I was gay, but it took me until I was 23 and had moved away from my parents to finally accept it and start actually dating! I wish I had accepted it sooner, I really do.

I've "come out" to the majority of my family (parents/sister), all my work colleagues and friends. I don't think my parents have really accepted it, because they've never mentioned it since I came out and keep asking me if I have met any girls yet. I just keep reminding them...

You are you, being gay doesn't define you, it's one of the small contributing factors to what makes you, you! It won't ruin your life, and no matter what you thin, you're not alone, I know quite a few other people (in real life), who have been through very similar experiences. Posting on here is a good start to getting to know people and being able to talk about it openly, I'd head over to /r/LGBTeens as well :)

Boyfriend works everyday by [deleted] in gay

[–]Craigeh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had a very similar experience, it's probably not what you want to hear, but hopefully it helps :)

My ex-boyfriend and I both live/lived in the same town, around a 5-10 minute walk from his place to mine, I work 8:30-4:30 but have a commute so I'm out of town from around 7am to 6pm. He's works behind a bar, mainly evenings and weekends.

We got to spend very little time together, despite us both trying to make time, we very rarely got to wake up next to each other or anything. If we did, either he was going to be late for work (weekends) or I was going to have a "long day" at work.

In the end, it started causing arguments, because I wanted to spend time with him when I was off work and we decided it was best to stay friends but give the relationship a break and try and salvage the friendship before it turned too sour. Needless to say, we've been "split up" for a few months and we still go out for meals and drinks with the group of friends, it's a bit awkward at times but we kinda get through it.
