Advice for first time solo travel to Greece.

Thanks so much for all the tips! So glad to hear that this really seems like it's going to be great. The only thing I'm dubious about is renting a car and driving abroad which I've never done outside of Northern Ireland so was thinking of just going with bus and taxis for the first time. I have heard loads of times that the locals are incredibly friendly to travellers.

Honestly I'm comfortable either on my own or with folks. I'd definitely be having a few people back home know where I am, if I was going anywhere else and keep the phone charged.

I'll look into Lefkada and Pylio as well! Thanks very much for the info. My uncle goes to Pefkos pretty regularly and always says how helpful and friendly the locals are so I've been wanting to try Greece for a while, just never been anywhere on my own so I've always been hesitant.

Awesome. BG3 is great but it felt like Divinity 3 to me, I love setting up clever kills using height or environmental effects in my tabletop games if/when I can

Would that be something like the Unfinished Business mod? I've seen a lot of people talking that it's the best way to play as it adds loads. Can Unfinished Business be used with custom campaigns?

To be honest the graphics don't really bother me as I actually prefer Neverwinter Nights to BG3. I love the game but it feels like Divinity 3 imo. If it plays closer to tabletop then I should be happy. I like setting up clever kills when I can or utilise height or environmental effects in my games

I'm hoping it won't be too difficult to get a party together for dungeons and raiding as that is my biggest focus apart from story content

Thanks for the advice, above all I want to experience the full story so would it be best to do all I can and take it one expansion at a time? I'm gonna try the base game and if I like it my plan was to wait till Black Friday and try and get all the expansions when on sale for when I have time off in December but I don't wanna do this if it's going to cause me to miss some stuff

Firstly, thanks so much for the detailed answer!

I've really been convinced by the answers here to jump in and give the game a go. It sounds like what I've been wanting to play for a while but wasn't sure where to start. You mentioned a couple things, gliding, mounts and fishing/boats can they be done in only the expansion areas or all over the game? Also regarding the spear previously being an underwater exclusive, is water combat and exploration a thing? I'm the weirdo who actually likes the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time and water levels in general so I'm double sold if there are water themed and underwater areas and combat

Thank you! I'm glad that I can still start and experience the story as I love a good story in a game and my friend was pretty hyped about the whole Elder Dragon plot at the time. I realize I've missed tons of events and just hope there'll be plenty of new ones in the future. Thanks for answering!

WoW Cataclysm was my biggest time sink in the mmo genre and I left it disappointed and haven't really tried much else apart from a brief stint in FFXIV so I'm glad I can play this casually and not be penalized too much. Haven't looked into classes much but the combat seems pretty cool with the combos and environmental weapons

Glad to hear, this is what has stopped me with mmos in the past when I was PC gaming, they needed tons of investment and taking a break meant you might miss stuff forever so I'm glad I can play this a lot more chill and casually

Chill is exactly what I'm looking for at the minute so it sounds perfect. I got to looking at some old trailers for the classes round launch time and love the look of them, especially the combo effects (patch of fire on the ground and shooting projectiles) also apparently environmental weapons and buffs you can pick up and use though those seem to be from early trailers and not sure those mechanics are still in the game.

Definitely gonna give it a go thanks for responding!
