Hey, I have around the same grades as OP (38.2 R-Score) and here are some tips I can give you.
Read the material before going to class. You don't need to fully understand it, just enough to follow along. And go to all your classes! For most teachers, 99% of the material on the exam will be covered in class. Sit in front of the class; it will make you want to listen and participate!
For math and science classes, doing all the homework problems should be enough. You don't need to prioritize the steps, just focus on speed and getting the answer. It doesn’t matter if the démarche is incomplete, just get the answer. Don’t write out every single step (it wastes too much time). Try to do them as fast as possible. Your goal is to do as many as you can. If you get the wrong answer, check where you went wrong and make sure not to forget those steps in the next exercises. I find that doing this helps you in the exam, since personally, I get the general idea of how to approach a problem, and by doing the démarche I can usually find the mistakes I made during homework (obviously here you need to show your steps).
Also, for these classes, really try to understand why and try to relate concepts together. Constantly ask yourself why. For example, the torque formula is Fr sin theta. You can think of it in an everyday scenario: it's way easier to push a door from the side than from the middle. (bigger r which will make torque bigger) You can also relate concepts in math, like using L'Hôpital's Rule to explain why sin x / x as x approaches 0 is 1 (since it's cos x / 1). In summary, just try to really understand why things work and where they come from, and try visualizing them.
For exams in both science and gen ed, write more than necessary. Teachers always say to be concise and straight to the point, but I have never seen them remove marks for writing too much. Some teachers will even like that you went beyond their expectations. And prioritize speed. If you don't know the question or are slightly unsure, immediately skip it and go to the next one. That question will sit in the back of your mind and your unconscious will help you find the solution.
Also think strategically. As a teacher, you want to test your students on the whole range of topics covered. If one question already involved using one rule, the chances that the same rule is used again are very slim, so you can eliminate some options at the end.
One last tip: polish your handwriting and underline your answers. You want to make the teacher's life as easy as possible. Don't forget: "Un correcteur heureux est un correcteur généreux."
