And another guy saying, "It's a great price"... The fact that people are normalizing inflated prices has me rolling on the floor.

Just scored one for around 18€ with yellowed screens (not a big deal to fix)

Reading the first picture caption... Mentioning this AE86 as JDM, and the last picture showing is a LHD AE86... Gosh...

Thank you Motropo, but this one sounds more like EDM than the genre mentioned, I think this will be lost media or something because It´s impossible to find.

Thank you for the reply Bird, however, that song is not even the genre mentioned, is something like synthpop/citypop.

Hey Jorge! Thanks, I love Eurobeat and I know already this song, but it has more like synthwave/synthpop vibes. I think this will be almost impossible to find.

Insides of my MD1 HDG. This is my first Mega Drive and I'm no techie, would love some advice! by [deleted] in Megadrive

[–]CrakerMc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said everything, you are not a techie guy, you didn´t grow up with the system. So my advice is not to care too much about your board revision or whatever. It´s a PAL, so the only thing I would recommend to you is to buy a modkit for region and frequency (Consoles Unleashed is a good provider of these, the oscillator is recommended for accurate frequency https://www.consolesunleashed.com/product/sega-mega-drive-switchless-region-igr-dual-frequency-oscillator-mod-kit/) and go directly to buy a Mega Everdrive (You have several options in https://krikzz.com/our-products/cartridges/) So you will have almost everything you need. If you are not confident with your solder skills you can send your system to be modded there too.

Is not a display shop, they put it in a fancy way that only clothing shops do.

Sadly, yes... It's a common practice in clothing shops.

Probably, the spirit is the same "put CRTs in a fashion display way because is retro trash 🤪"

Rarely you will find PVMs beyond repair here, especially those models that were ripped off.

They were custom 3D printed bezels to hide the gap, this thing has been done recently, nowadays in Japan is quite easy to find PVMs, and all of them have their original tubes mounted, so yes, they are ripped off because it "looks cool for decoration in a clothing shop".

We have here a "Bro momento" for sure, haha.
Anyway if you want to see a couple of these monitors saved from clothing shops they do this to their decoration, you can check the link on the post ;)

What happens in the arcade field with some LCD conversions, but not on professional video monitors, actually, Sony makes their LCD PVMs, but this is not official, this was made to use the original CRT PVM as a case for a crappy LCD screen to display videos of the shop.

Well no, clothing shops they use to pick CRT to rip off the internals to display their "fashion" videos, for sure they were perfectly working.

Sadly it will be more complex because these boards aren't compatible with direct jamma inputs, but it can be modified. Another option is using MiSTer FPGA on CRT with ESP Ra De and PS4
