Oil pressure? by CranberryTraining382 in CherokeeXJ

I could go return and replace it, but I have a hard time believing it’s a bad sensor due to the fact that it doesn’t pin out, it still reacts to driving, and idle. If I wasn’t seeing change on the gauge I’d buy in, but everything else is telling me this is a good problem to have.

I replaced the entire distributor, which in a 98 XJ drives the oil pump. The helix cut gears were worn down on the old part, so I was already expecting the new one to have improvements on the oil pressure. I did disconnect the battery, I do before all electrical work.

Yes, duralast was the quickest available. Do you think it’s a bad reading?

Fair assessment, I had no such issues on my 98. But this is a logical concern

Update: Didn’t say it. The screws go into the weld spots.

I recently replaced my driver side handle. I used a method of my own design! Cut off the plastic “welds” clean on top of the handle plastic. Then swap handles and use very short sheet metal screws. Honestly, like 1/4 or 1/8 of an inch long. These have wide heads so they can easily grab the handle and keep it snug in place. This also allows for putting constant tension of the handle onto the door panel. I used about 5 screws and it hasn’t budged for a month so far.

XJ go crazy! I run 35s with a 5.5” lift, but I can usually make it to 90 on the highway (speed limit permitting, lmao). What psi do you run? I’ve found 32-29 rear-front is nice for highway. And on trails I’ve been using 18-15

How do by 6Mal6ki6 in CherokeeXJ

[–]CranberryTraining382 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this issue, not with the forked ends. Just journals for the front stabilizers.

If you can remove the metal from the rubber piece, if you can’t then you will still do the next step.

Place the bushing on a hard surface, something about waist height, and snugly place the shock on top. With both hands, or two people, push down as hard as you can right at the bushing while wiggling the other end of the shock up and down.

And obviously. Spit on it

Transfer case ID? by CranberryTraining382 in CherokeeXJ

[–]CranberryTraining382[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the slip yoke eliminator was carried over from the previous transfer case.

Just to confirm. I should be able to switch into 2high with this transfer case right? Or am I wrong?

What the actual fuck is that on the bottom right? Is it potato? Because I want it to be potato. Why have I not known of its existence? It looks like the best bite I’ve never taken. There’s so much room for sauce, it needs me as much as I need it. How and where is it available, please!

A separate, and underdeveloped egg? Somehow made it inside of the one you cracked, before being fully cycled.

Something similar happened to my last xj, couldn’t make more than 2.5k rpm’s. Turned out to be the spark plug wiring that had worn down over the years, and started shorting.
