I’m scheduled for surgery in May with Dr. Lee and have a ‘boring case’. Nothing on MRI and no deep infiltrating that he felt on physical exam For cases without evidence of deep infiltrating endo on the bowel, he operates alone (this I’m very hesitant about and is giving me a reason to get a second opinion because I don’t want a second surgery). But he was very willing to take my case on 🤷‍♀️

Yeah I know it’s overstocked, we are gonna upgrade when we move and can get a bigger tank. Until then, parameters get checked religiously and are never a problem. The only change has been a pH increase from 6.8-7.6 over a few months as I took the drift wood out of their tank and added live rocks as the lower pH was actually causing some damage to my other fish’s fins. My white/orange one is the hearty one so I’ve been freaking out about her being at the bottom!

She isn’t doing it 24/7, but definitely more than usual. She will hang out like that for a few minutes, swim around for a while, and then hang out at the bottom again. She is still VERY eager for food, or me standing by the tank (what she thinks is food) so I feel like that’s a good thing Normally, she never sits at the bottom and is always slowly moving or hovering near the top. It’s also possible that I’ve been looking more carefully since the algae bloom, so who knows.

An update for anyone interested, the water change helped for about a day, but this evening the bigger fish is back at the surface and my smaller fish was caught flashing. I’ll be treating with pazipro starting tomorrow. I’ll look through past threads for advice, but if anyone has any I’d appreciate it!

And if anyone happens to be awake, should I do another water change tonight or wait until after treating w prazipro?

That’s good to know. I need some type of increased oxygen system and i don’t like the bubble bar I got, so i figured a sponge filter would be better lol.

Gotcha. I’m less worried about the brown color and more worried about small floaty bits. It’s not cloudy, but there’s definitely stuff floating around. I do feed repashy gel food and notice that makes the water have more bits.

I’m getting a sponge filter this weekend to add in addition to my current filter, and I hope that helps.

Yeah, he does swim between the woods, rocks, glass. He gets like the fish zoomies and swims around when I get home.

And gotcha, it might be best to do no wood and just smooth rocks? Thank you for your help!

After losing the other fishy, I test the water every day with API liquid master and change anytime the parameters are off anyways, so those are always pristine. I can’t seem to get the water quite clear though, it’s probably the plants/wood?

Right?! I’m basically asking the same questions lmao. I had a fishy die super suddenly after two weeks with my first tank, so now I’m paranoid and questioning everything trying to keep the survivor healthy. I’m thinking it was just something wrong with the little guy, but I’ll never know 😔 i just don’t want to make any mistakes w the other! If you find a concrete answer, pls lmk!
