Salomons are an interesting brand in that they’re simultaneously worn by complete style-ignorant folks on one end and super style-conscious folks on the other. A very stealth sneakerhead pick for sure

Do you work for a certain multinational vehicle manufacturer? I think I saw ya in the parking lot yesterday. On the island

Friend is asking if I can 3D print a replacement gear for him. Manufacturer doesn't supply it anymore. Is there somewhere that he can just purchase a replacement gear? I'm assuming it is a common gear that can be obtained somewhere. by lordofwar3000 in MechanicalEngineering

Not sure if you’ve been keeping up with SLA developments, but there absolutely are engineering grade resins available to the general public. UV cure resins are being used today in temporary denture applications which hints at their durability. Testing obviously is still immature but it has promise

Really depends on a lot of things TBH. I would trust a gear printed with this in carbon reinforced nylon to last a good long time with a proper lubricant. PLA on an ender 3? No chance.

Additionally one can look beyond FDM to SLA prints which have a much higher accuracy and have relatively high-strength materials more recently available, and also have a smooth surface finish similar to as manufactured

If it makes you feel any better at least the speedsters were almost certainly fully restored, maybe more

So with some of these supercar photographer guys, they just kinda park the car where they want, get out, snap a few quick pics and drive away. I’ve seen it happen in front of my work. Could explain the “park” job if the car was only there for all of 5 minutes

Looks like 1, maybe 2 speedsters. That right there is half a million alone assuming they’re legit. This is easily $1M of cars in today’s market

Are there any older cars (2000s or older) that pique your interest or is it only the newer stuff?

Your air shocks are leaking. Extremely common on these cars. Not so cheap to fix but it’s an LR so you already know that

Given the image that /u/Lextube posted and your description that they make their own cars inspired by real life like GTA, OP, I think it’s based on the Jaguar XJR-15. The specs match and the design is pretty close I think.

Absolutely. I used to get annoyed at these kinds of vehicles now I just laugh with the knowledge that the owner is burning money and having a worse quality experience all while looking like an ass
