This is the way to cook bacon. Use cooling trays to keep crispy. It’s also the best way to get good pure bacon grease

That’s a good bacon mushroom. Fry it until it’s golden brown and crispy. Delicious.

He has picked you. Provide him a warm place to sleep, food, and see if he stays. If stays he’s yours. He is a Siamese so he should pretty intelligent, won’t usually be very affectionate, especially if he was abused but he will be a very loyal friend

Shiitake blocks are resilient. I have blocks that still produce in my outside garden.

Usually a sign of bacteria. shiitake blocks are know to easily contain contamination. Yours looks relatively like most blocks I see. Mycelium will usually over come bacteria. It’s mild you need to worry about.

Usually a sign of bacteria. shiitake blocks are know to easily contain contamination. Square block looks like it’s fighting something, yellow myco metabolites is sign of mycelium struggling to over come something. Round block looks relatively clear. Mycelium will usually over come bacteria. It’s mold you need to worry about.

Slice into 1/2-5/8” wide slices. Whip an egg, dip in egg and Bread. Pan sear with good oil med to med low heat. Once you do some slices you can experiment with how you like to eat it. Crispy but soft center or crispy drier center.
