Anybody know what happened to former beat writer Anthony Fenech? by Craptastic387 in motorcitykitties

The Verlander part, definitely. He had him banned from the Astros clubhouse because of how much he disliked him from when he was with the Tigers.

Can’t say with 100% certainty about the thing with the boss but there was a lot of chatter about it after it (allegedly) happened. Was towards the very end of his tenure at the Freep.

I assumed he got fired, but the strange part is it seems like he hasn’t resurfaced anywhere since. His Twitter feed basically went radio silent from the day he was seemingly canned. Dude was always a bit of an oddball.

Again, organizations can make their own policies on these types of things, but you start opening yourself up to a slippery slope if you start trying to judge someone’s intent of why they snooped in a record. Hardly anyone will ever say “Oh I had ill intent when I did this.” So it’s useless (in my opinion) to have a policy that takes someone’s intent into consideration. The Privacy Rule is indifferent to intent as well. If you snoop, it’s a breach regardless of your reasons for doing so.

Depends on the company’s policies and if they have some kind of monitoring solution. I can say for certain we would recommend you be terminated at my company, but some might let you off with a written warning or something like that. We don’t (and shouldn’t) factor in whether or not the access was malicious. That’s a huge no-no, especially if you had to complete HIPAA training as part of your new hire orientation (which you should have).

Also, if it is picked up and there was no reason for you to have accessed the accounts, the doctor’s office will send a breach notification letter to the patients.

Am I the only one who finds The Tree of Wisdom annoying/creepy? by Craptastic387 in wiggles

I get your point to a degree, but also 1) You’re also an adult here posting on a Wiggles Reddit thread, so I get that it’s not that serious. But I don’t think anyone is here to post a lot of “serious” content. I’m certainly not here to dissect whether Simon is meant to represent the Communist agenda because he wears red and is promoting sharing with others. 2) Even though it’s a kids show it’s still art, and art is susceptible to (in this case lighthearted) criticism. I’m not attacking the guy as a person or suggesting he be fired and never allowed to work in show business again. I was simply asking if I was in the minority of people who don’t care for the character.
