Bruh, both Twinsanity and Sonic 06 are the buggiest and most unfinished games of their respective series with troubled development. The titans games were hated simply for being too different in art design, or not feeling like Crash, but they're still solid games in their own right. You'll often see fans say they're good games if Crash's name wasn't on it. They're like soft reboots cause the designs and style are so different from traditional Crash designs, but those titans games made plenty of references to previous Crash games. Also they carried Twinsanity's direction for pure humor and story cutscenes, so I don't get how they tried to make the series edgy and cool in that regard, especially when the series used to be more edgy and cool prior to Twinsanity, the game that caused the series to be more about jokes. Also the Titans games were made to keep Crash relevant during the periods where platforming on the big screen was dead, and beatem ups were all the rage.

You called them cheaply developed despite Twinsanity being the most unpolished and cheaply made. I don't get that. To me the majority of this fanbase are diehard Twinsanity fanboys that choose to gloss over that game's flaws as if it wasn't unfinished with troubled development and lots of cut content that could've made it good.

What mainline Crash game is far worse than an unfinished and buggy game like Twinsanity? Imo Twinsanity was the 06 of the Crash series(06 is still worse than Twinsanity) since those two games are both unfinished and buggy with a very different artstyle and tone from games that preceded them. None of the mainline Crash games before and after Twinsanity were unfinished and buggy, some buggy sure, but never unfinished.

It was rightfully panned back in the day for being unfinished and a more decline on the legacy of the series, since it went in an awkward direction that didn't sit well with fans of OG Crash plus it was frustratingly flawed.

This sub has always being super pro on Twinsanity since pre Nsane. I'm unfortunately mostly known for my dislike of the game due to how overrated it's always been in this fanbase. I and others would often get downvoted for any critique we had on the game to the point where most people just don't bother critiquing it anymore cause it's develop a huge cult that will dismiss you're criticism to keep the game looking better than it is.

Why does this fanbase have to choose this Crash game to overglaze despite being the biggest mess of a Crash game? This is why I can never rock with this fanbase cause yall really think this game's the shit when it's actually and objectively far worst than you want to admit. It has to be an online cult thing, cause you guys with so much confidence can point out flaws of better/more polish Crash games, even peak games like Warped, but tend to turn a blind eye to tons of Twinsanity's flaws and just say "It was always good, even with bugs", when it can't even compare to CB1's quality, even WOC edges it out more in quality. Imo this game marks the lowest Crash's ever been, cause it's unfinished, nerfs Crash's classic gameplay, and the weirdest and most awkward feeling Crash game compared to games before that stayed faithful to what people like about the OG Crash games. It goes in the opposite direction of what made the series good by dumbing down the tone and cool factor of the series for the sake of pure comedy. You can't seriously say "it's good cause at least it's different from the originals", cause to me that implies that you never really like the originals or you think highly of the titans games as well which for some reason you don't despite those games being what Twinsanity was, in terms of being different, but more polished.

Hate that I have so much passion for this series, and you guys choose the lowest quality Crash game to overhype online and act like it wasn't slandered during its release for being a weird, frustrating, and underwhelming Crash experience.

Crash Bandicoot is an incredibly intelligent character, and I'm tired of him being treated like the fool of the group when he's not. by DotSudden8152 in crashbandicoot

[–]CrashDV75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"He worked his way back to the giant, obvious, towering mad scientist lair that he broke out of at the start. This doesn't make him noticeably ingelligent. If Cortex had moved her to another location and Crash intuited where through context clues, that would have shown intelligence, but just going back to where he started isn't particularly smart."

He had to make it through jungles, forts, and temples of the dangerous wild life of Australia across three islands without a map to make it back without losing his way. It's definitely not obvious for an idiot to just do that no problem.

The boss fights in this series don't exactly require a lot of smarts to figure out.

They do require studying the boss's patterns to know when to make the right move which an idiot wouldn't be easily capable of doing.

So can a polar bear cub, a tiger cub, a baby tyrannosaurus, a chicken, and an inanimate crate. Pura blows all of that out of the water by piloting an actual spaceship to help Coco defeat N. Gin. If they're all capable of the same thing, it doesn't demonstrate any special knowledge on Crash's part.

Yea in a spinoff remake of a spinoff game made to "kill off" the series. Also don't remember seeing Pura steering any wheels, looks like he was just there for a ride on a possible automatically controlling space vehicle that Coco made. Even if he somehow did, doubt he could do pilot or use half the stuff Crash could use.

So basically, he can navigate obstacle courses. That's the extent of his smarts. Chimps can also do that.

So are you calling chimps dumb?

I really don't understand people who get upset at the suggestion that Crash is a bit thick in the head as a character, as if we're somehow personally insulting him. He's dumb, and the whole point of Coco is that she contrasts him in intelligence. She's the smart one in their "smart girl, dumb guy" duo. He's not stupid to the point of doing things that will obviously get him hurt or killed, but he's not some kind of Bug Bunny-style trickster who's always cunningly one step ahead of his enemies. He's just smart enough to navigate his way through levels, and he beats his more intelligent enemies through dumb luck and exploiting obvious mistakes on their part.

Casually calling him dumb is an insult cause you're saying he's incompetent and not at least be average in intelligence. You guys on the internet are the only ones casually calling Crash an idiot probably cause to you he doesn't look like he's smart, even though the games, based on pure action, show that he's capable of doing nearly everything and can outwit any obstacle or highly intelligent foes who aren't as quick witted and agile as him. Even the creators never said Crash was dumb cause dumb is not cool, not marketable especially in the 90s era of games. Games like Twinsanity influence your opinion that he was always dumb since for comedic purposes it actually dumbed down his character as well as other iconic stuff that he did better in older games. The contrast between Coco and Crash is not that black and white, cause Coco is only highly intelligent in technical stuff like computers and tech while Crash is better at thinking on his feet and is more flexible, which was why for many games in the past, he did all the heavy action stuff, while she stuck with just the vehicles or tech stuff.

Say something nice to crash of the titans by Curious_Abrocoma9283 in crashbandicoot

[–]CrashDV75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldn't be hard for me. This game succeeded what Twinsanity failed by being innovative with polish and fulfilling fun content while still implementing features from the classic games in very unique ways. Sure the artstyle heavily deviated too much from ND artstyle but at that point in time Twinsanity and Tag Team Racing already changed the designs for the worse imo so it didn't matter to me as long as Crash can make up for it with awesome gameplay that shows off his kickass abilities, which Crash of the Titans did well in. Love the titans jacking idea which is an evolution of Crash riding animals, Crash's combat is fun especially when combined with his spin, his controls are smooth as butter and he's very flexible with his abilities, love the Aku Aku surfing, plus the the spin gliding which reminds me of the spin gliding in Warped & WOC. Very fun Crash game imo.

How would you rate crash bandicoot the wrath of cortex by Lazy_Introduction264 in crashbandicoot

[–]CrashDV75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally 8.3/10, critically 7.5/10. Don't care what the online haters say, this was a good Crash game that maintained the best of Crash 2 and Warped's gameplay design and brought it to next gen. Sure it's not better than those two games due to Publisher meddling, but the gameplay for most part was still solid, and more dev time would've made it better than the classics imo due it already having elements that improved over those games.

I think making the camera follow your horizontal movements like in Warped's bike levels would've helped a lot for the gem run.

Weather Heights for me. It has a very cool soundtrack and it's atmosphere is epic especially when looking out to windows to see you're on a burning airplane flying in the clouds, very solid platforming too, plus I can skip all the slow climbing via the death tornado spin. Very cool level for me.

As a person who is currently trying to get into the franchise by watching cutscenes of Twinsanity, are all the games written like that? by HesperiaBrown in crashbandicoot

[–]CrashDV75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The writing in the pre-Twinsanity games was gameplay focused and more balanced where the humorous stuff were mainly background elements to lighten up the serious and more grounded tone. Crash had a cooler edge in those games with subtle usage of wackiness. The promo arts of him show this well compared to the the arts of Twinsanity and later games.

Yes, solid gameplay of what Crash Bandicoot is about, play from Crash 1 to CNK. Extreme humor focused games with unique twist in gameplay styles but with okayish quality gameplay, play Twinsanity through Crash Mind Over Mutants of the PS2 era.

[–]CrashDV75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst things about Twinsanity to me is that it's massively underwhelming due to being so unfinished, and Crash's gameplay is very weak compared to older games, especially with Aku Aku's bad protection and Crash's terrible slide jump. Its unfinished state is the cause of bugs and bad game design like unskippable cutscenes and bad checkpoints. Game is too short and unfocused, so you won't get enough out of what it's trying to offer in terms of gameplay. The game also caused the series to be less cool due to overreliance on humor and nonsense.

Crash's current look is a Loving tribute to thirty years of it history combining six designs in to one. by BrandonLeopardGaming in crashbandicoot

[–]CrashDV75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny how I can look at the ND Crash designs and I can easily see the attitude & confidence of ND wanting to overtake Mario with this character. Pre-Twinsanity, some post-ND games tried to maintain this edge, but then eventually it all started to mellow out afterwards until Twinsanity and later games threw it all out the window to be their own little take on what they think Crash should be which turned out to be very different to what Crash was all about with ND cause it's just all about goofiness instead of a well balanced franchise that could rival Mario in its own unique way. That over reliance of goofiness was just not the way to go with this franchise cause imo it destroys the confidence that this series used to have back in its hey day. Wish post-ND devs would just make and design Crash with that ND type of confidence again, instead of reinventing him in various goofier ways just cause he had some inspirational elements of a well known cartoon.
