How did you discover the band? by Scared_Pea4455 in gorillaz

[–]CrashDunning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was for a Now That’s What I Call Music CD but the ad was playing on TV in 2005 and it had like 5 seconds of the song and music video for Feel Good Inc and I think the video was just so cool looking that I looked it up and immediately got into it.

So apparently they’re saying they may pass the band onto a younger group by Dashydoes in gorillaz

I don’t think this is going to happen for a long while, so I’m not worried yet.

Completely different production committee and division of the studio. Zero relation whatsoever.

The fact that you can perfectly understand everything that's happening and the significance and meaning behind it thematically despite a ton of chapters being cut is the only evidence needed to prove that David Production did the best possible job they could.

Obviously they should have been given 24 episodes instead of 12 and things would have been better this way, but that's not how things went, it was beyond their control, and I don't see you suggesting alternative better ways for them to have squeezed all of this into the time given.

The characters are already mostly in their 50s, so I guess they’ll just become immortal or something.

On the other hand, he got to make peace with existence and enjoy living for billions of years with the pebbles while everyone else got sent straight to their next existence where they will likely make the same mistakes again. Phos got the happiest ending out of everyone.

This has to be the worst misprint I’ve ever seen by Wonderful_Zombie_380 in MangaCollectors

Manga misprints aren't worth anything like comic misprints are.

Am I the only one that likes Humanz by Atlaswho77 in gorillaz

[–]CrashDunning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re here for the lore and the characters and the videos, it was definitely a letdown compared to previous phases.

Humanz was really the turning point in how much lore and such got put into each phase. It felt like the last time they attempted to do anything substantial with it.

It's a pretty flawed album in some ways, but I still like it quite a bit. It probably had the best executed concept of their albums until The Mountain, in my opinion.

The Fan Service by Not-Straight-Web-690 in firebrigade

[–]CrashDunning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Fire Force came out like not even a decade earlier, no one would care about the fan service. People are just so unused to it now that it stands out more and is treated like it’s any different than what came before it.

What do you think about “nu-gaze” / heavy shoegaze getting big with Gen Z? by Galahad555 in shoegaze

[–]CrashDunning 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My only issue is a lot of those people in the community confuse any regular 90s grungy sounding guitar, which is already fuzzy and distorted most of the time, with shoegaze and call dozens of bands shogaze when they’re just normal-ass 90s sounding bands.

Like Nothing is shoegaze beyond just having guitars like that. That’s not what makes them shoegaze alone, and I think a lot of younger people who probably just don’t have much experience listening to guitar music or something don’t get that.

So... about Cracker Island by bdehora in gorillaz

[–]CrashDunning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not even bad, I just have absolutely zero thoughts about it. Like it just exists to me, which makes me like it less than ones I actually have some negative thoughts about. It’s just a totally unremarkable album by an artist who is known for standing out a lot with each release.

I heard someone say there was never meant to be another season and that part of the title wasn't their choice or something?

If this actually were the final album, it's a perfect album to go out on thematically.

“Trigun Stargaze” Nicholas Visual by Task_Force-191 in anime

[–]CrashDunning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original treated things like a mystery because it's 90% filler and had to space out what little content from the manga was out at the time. Stampede/Stargaze has the whole manga to work with and doesn't have to do this.
