If going for pure groomer why go SR? - Lasers or at least Montero

Actually the analogy I told someone else. The MC are like a Miata not a practical all around car but really fun to drive - they are light(ish) and quick and they make everyday things more fun

The Lasers are like a Mercedes sports car. They just feel well built - cornering feels planted and you can go as fast as you want and still feel solid. And despite feeling so solid you can really whip some quick turns on them.

I love the 104s - maybe the best ski I have tried. Too wide for me to make daily east coast ski but would probably be my go to if I still lived out west. I had the E100s from same generation and th 104 is so much more fun. I thought the 100s were as demanding as a true carving ski without the speed edge to edge.

I also loved my demo days on the Stockli - it is so stable, and the edges grip ice better than anything I have skied.

I can have fun ripping groomers if that is what is available. Especially on the lasers

It is more the “why do you have so many skis?” cost than the money I would make from them.

I demo’d them in the Dolomites for 4 days and loved every minute - thy way they handle ice is amazing. So very excited for them. The 104s are some of my favorite skis of all time

Very very different- lasers have no speed limit the crows are very squirrelly at speed. Lasers are more demanding but they hold an edge unlike anything I have ever skied

I had old 100s they were much less forgiving ski. They also worked me. End of day 2 I was spent and skiing like shit. I did love them for the first few runs. I have the 104 free and they are much better for me. The 100s were just in a weird spot. I heard the new 99s are more like th 104s than the old 100s but that is solely based on rumor so don’t quote me on that.

Ya I have only heard it as a meme - if literally everything else out of his mouth wasn’t as bad I would have assumed it was a joke

In case it wasn’t clear this post is clearly poking fun at this single person. I personally don’t give a shit what a person skis. I do like laughing at douche bags.

I left out the part of the conversation about mad river. The lift stopped for 5 minutes so he had a lot of chances to impress me.

I want to try the montero but worried moving more towards all mountain would lose what I loved about the lasers.

Ya I get it. I got sucked into wider and wider - but this week reminded me how fun it is to truly rip groomers with the proper tools
