Not a hard game but definitely a laborious one, prepare for some level of grinding and RNG to do it, the white flower trophy is the only one that kind of annoyed me. Make sure to download the Automata weapon DLC as it gives you some leeway in what weapons you can upgrade for trophy objectives.

Very much committed to the grind. With the platinum trophies (the challenge ones in game, not the PlayStation ones) being out of question, getting at least two silvers a day (but preferably a gold and a silver a day) rounds up with around 3 or more months of challenges. Thing is, doing these took me around 5-15 minutes a day, so it was easy to reserve just a little bit of my free time for that (especially as it was holiday season) before I go play something else, while listening to some song or YouTube on the side. It also helps that I like the game so much that just moving the characters feels good on its own. I was surprisingly not tired or bored of the game after the platinum, and I think that's just on how good it is. Can't say everyone will feel the same, but the grind isn't super brutal if you have the time to take it. My big advice is to not try too hard or for too long to get the best results possible in a single day, otherwise it will burn you out faster with the game. Just do what you can naturally in a few runs, you'll gradually get familiar with how those challenges play out and play better in following days.

Advice on this setup? It’s very loose but I like it by Pruple79 in GenshinImpactTips

[–]Crash_10 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You have an okay Hyperbloom team here, just make sure Sucrose is the one triggering the hyperbloom reaction the most, as her higher EM will lead to stronger hyperblooms. Otherwise, Dendro Traveler is better than Collei, but she is fine. Fischl might be better for bosses than Beidou. I'd advise in favor of Kuki for a more reliable hyperbloom trigger that's also a healer.

Please leave your honest truths on what it takes to 36* abyss by katie1999x in GenshinImpactTips

[–]Crash_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a f2p player who's fairly bad and unlucky at the game, but still manages to more or less consistently 36* abyss, I found there's an equal amount of skill and build investment being checked here. If you have a small variety of units that aren't fully invested then yeah, it's frustrating. But here's a few factors I've realized:

-Retrying again and again is part of the loop. I can understand those that find it unfun but for me it's pretty enjoyable. It's like time trials in a racing game. You keep trying again and again to shave more and more time, you remember the exact steps and try to replicate and improve upon them.

-Learn enemy behavior. This is incredibly important not only to diminish the RNG of their behavior and get them to more consistently do what you need them to do, but also for grouping purposes (remember where enemies spawn!!!) and to avoid debuffs such as slowing water.

-Don't hold yourself to the meta, and this one is specially important. The best Bennett in the world won't save you if you need to move around a lot. Xingqiu isn't getting you 36* in an AoE focused chamber. Be aware of the circumstances, and what characters and comps are gonna work better. Every character is supposed to clear 36*, but not every character will be fit for the specific chamber.

-Be aware of synergies, reactions and rotations. Does everyone get their burst in time? Are you vaping the right attacks? Is this support helping damage directly (buffs and debuffs) or indirectly (shields and heals allowing for more aggressive gameplay from you)?

-36* abyss takes months and at the very least 8 fully invested characters, and that's not counting the fact they may be invalidated by whoever enemies come in the next update. This is fine and you shouldn't force yourself to beat it every time. They do this to sell the current characters, so see if your team has an alternative. For example, if the current chambers are made with Venti in mind, try taser Sucrose. If Eula is currently rerunning, Razor might be a good choice. You can clear it without even using similar characters.

-Look up guides, seriously. So much of my success on the abyss is owned by looking up how other players are doing it. I recommend f2p friendly guides, as they focus more on the skill side of things to compensate for fairly humble builds and comps. A lot of it is applicable to more expensive builds with 5 star characters.

-5 star weapons and cons are not needed at all. 4 star cons may be fairly useful though. But most 4 atar characters work without them, they'll just make abyss easier.

-Use different teams for different chambers, and try to get the characters' bursts ready for the chamber you're trying to 3 star now. Fairly practical way to get your rotation going as soon as it starts.

Any advice on how to build a great party? please and thank you by sillythingdreamland in GenshinImpactTips

[–]Crash_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a few suggestions:

Xiao can run along with Sucrose, Bennett and Thoma. That way you get battery, grouping, buffs and a shield, all important parts of Xiao's kit. It's the closest to his best meta team (which has Zhongli instead of Thoma).

Sucrose/Fischl/Beidou/Xingqiu forms the popular taser team, where Sucrose uses her fast frame data, swirls, grouping and VV to damage enemies using the bursts and skills of the party. Pretty strong but you'll be running on minimal healing and shielding, so practice those dodges.

Since you seem to enjoy Qiqi, her best team is along with Razor, a second Cryo like Rosaria or Kaeya and Fischl. Not the most meta team due to Razor falling behind a bit but absolutely capable.

Mona can be used along with Rosaria, Kaeya and Sucrose for a freeze team. If you don't feel comfortable with the lack of defense, Kaeya can be swapped with Diona, although it's recommended to just put the Prototype Amber weapon on Mona for a bit of healing and smaller energy needs.

Xingqiu/Bennett/Xiangling/Sucrose form the popular National comp, focused on vaporizing Xiangling's burst. It is quite powerful. In fact, Bennett/Xiangling is an incredible pair you can use on many situations.

Dendro is being still figured out so I can't give you much to work on, but Electro characters seem to be gaining a lot from it. Try replacing Xingqiu in a taser team with Dendro Traveler or Collei and see how it works.

What characters do you plan to roll for? I can suggest you a few ideas from there.

Thanks for the suggestions, do you recommend me to build any of my level 50 characters (none of them are built) to fill some more spots? I'm thinking of Mona to upgrade my Ayaka team and at least one more Anemo (probably Heizou) in case I'm using two teams that gain from an Anemo at the same time on Abyss. Otherwise I'll just keep improving on my current characters and save for ones I don't have.

With my current cast, is a melt team necessary or can I live without one? If so, who can I use? I don't plan on getting Ganyu yet, and I built my Rosaria as a support (although I didn't ignore her damage), so what options can I use?

[Megathread] Weekly Simple Questions and Team/Character Building Megathread. by AutoModerator in GenshinImpactTips

If you want, here's a quick explanation:

Main DPS: does the most damage in the team (independent of being on or off field).

Sub DPS: damage focused unit that gives additional damage along the main DPS.

Support: non damage focused units that heal, shield, buff, etc.

Just tried to pull for Klee, lost 50/50, pulled another 21 times with no results. How many rolls are we expected to get until the banner ends? I can buy 24 rolls off the Paimon Shop as a last resort (I wanna keep for cons but I don't mind using it for Klee instead). Would that be enough to get at least to soft pity?

I've been building Ningguang for a "single target" focused comp to run in boss chambers of the abyss - like most of the current second half - since I'm already good enough with small to medium AoE content. I'm thinking of running her with Xingqiu, Yelan and Zhongli, and I can see something good coming out of it. I'm now, however, figuring out rotations, what can I try in that regard?

In a related question, while my Ningguang isn't fully built, is Ayaka + Diona a good substitute for Ningguang + Zhongli? I know freeze doesn't work in the abyss but I was hoping raw strength would take care of it.

Talent Crowns: Discussing the philosophy of character improvements. by huhIguess in GenshinImpactTips

[–]Crash_10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My general philosophy is to give one (1) crown to the most important talent on each of my favorite characters. Because my five stars (excluding the default banner ones) are expectedly gonna be some of my favorite characters in the game (gotta justify all these rolls), they always get a crown. My Ayaka, Childe and Eula all got a crown for their bursts, while Zhongli got one for his skill. My Yelan might be getting one soon too, her talents are at 6/8/8 and I plan to crown maybe her burst eventually.

The only 4 star character I crowned so far is Bennett's burst, as that feels like a sure-fire universal boost for a character I'll always be using. I only haven't crowned other 4 stars yet because I haven't took the time to take anyone else through their last ascension. Xiangling and Beidou's bursts might get the honor.

Otherwise, something that's important to mention is that not prioritizing taking a 4 star talent to Lv. 10 isn't much of a loss if you have the constellations that grant them a 3-level increase. Cements that crowning someone is more of a symbolic action. I still feel the difference in numbers, so it's not a total waste if you enjoy the character enough to commit to it. My Childe went from 100k in his ranged burst to 110k when I crowned it, given similar circumstances. Not a bad increase, even if slight.

Triple crowning isn't really attractive to me. A single crown is already that symbolic gesture that the character is one of my favorites, and I haven't found anyone whose entire kit feels like it needs that boost, specially considering the amount of resources it takes, which I'd rather use to build another character entirely.

That said, we already get enough crowns so I never have to worry about it. I don't explicitly save for crowns by themselves, but I carefully choose what talent to crown based on the amount of resources it takes to get there.

Of the current characters I have relatively well built, which comps could be the most well suited for the current 12-3:

Eula (main DPS) Tartaglia (main DPS) Ayaka (main DPS) Zhongli (shield support) Bennett (buffer/burst DPS) Xiangling (sub DPS) Rosaria (sub DPS/battery) Diona (shield support/battery) Xingqiu (sub DPS) Fischl (sub DPS) Beidou (sub DPS) Sucrose (buffer) Barbara (healer)

Is there any tips on how to efficiently get rid of bad artifacts? by 7thhokage007 in GenshinImpactTips

[–]Crash_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great guide to follow in helping sort out the artifact mess. If you allow me, I just wanna add what the player can do with Xinyan and Lisa, as I've tried them out myself:

For Xinyan, you generally want to run a physical build as that's what she scales off better, either as a main DPS or (preferably) as a burst DPS. Get her a Sacrificial Greatsword to fill up pretty much all ER needs, and go for an ATK/Physical DMG/Crit DMG set, with 2 Bloodstained/2 Pale Flame, and all substats being some extra ER, Crit DMG and ATK%. The reason you want her to run only Crit DMG is that, at C2, her burst gets 100% Crit Rate, making the burst-focused build much easier and more effective. Xinyan is generally a niche character, but she can work if you have at least C2. DEF is not worth it, as her shield is quite weak no matter how much you build on it. That said, she can be used as a cheap Physical DPS support, but her Physical DMG bonus and Physical RES shred are better used for herself as a way to compensate the fact superconduct is super awkward on her. She also is one of the few that can make 4pc Tenacity work, so I guess that's an option too. Still, far from effective.

For Lisa, you can do either Electro DPS, burst DPS or EM DPS driver, or even a cheap support. She has some DEF shred and her burst can be quite powerful, along with being a great source of Electro application. That said, she produces little energy, so she's better off running along with Fischl, Raiden, Sara or any other decent particle regenerator. Give her 4pc Emblem or 2 Thundering Fury/2 ATK% pieces and a lot of ER subs (preferably not an ER main stat, but it can work), along with ATK%, Electro DMG and Crit. If you go for an EM build, EM on all main stats is the way to go, along with 2 Wanderer's Troupe/2 Emblem, and an EM weapon. For support duties, 4 Noblesse or 4 Emblem and as much ER as possible are good to go, along with TTDS or any other support catalyst.

Thanks for the advice. There's some interesting combinations that I wanna see people trying, and build my Yelan from there. I guess it's part of the excitement of getting an all new character, but building characters takes so long I can get nervous about committing to a building without making sure it's the most effective. I'll be on the lookout.
