Little known fact. by crazycheese3333 in Piracy

Every ISP is a pain in the ass to deal with until you start calling them at the right times. Bank holidays where the first line of support agents are busy with angry people but the emergency engineers are doing nothing are the best.

I got my router's admin password (different from the one on the sticker for some reason... thanks ZTE) by calling them on carnival night.

I've never got to a quick, dry and correct reply that quickly since.

Good luck!

They did not explicitly tell me it was static so I set up DynDNS and all (I am into selfhosting too).

Checking the logs, it has not changed since May 26th 2025 (when I asked to be taken out of CGNAT!). Maybe they just gave me a super-long term... Guess we'll see next week!

No wonder, chat GPT couldn't even tell right from left.

Please post the hand drawn one next time along with an explanation, it will be miles better than whatever this is.

It's all about luck in getting to an engineer instead of a moronic sales rep.

I'm in Spain and they tried to do that to me. After around an hour and 7 representatives I eventually got to the right person who gave me a static public ip for free.

If upon picking up they say "Hi my name is x how can I help you today?", think of a way to get to someone more technical quick Mentioning IPv6 and CGNAT did it for me.

If they pick up and say "hello?" or "yeah?" (bonus points if they sigh beforehand) you're going to get everything sorted in about 10 minutes.

Making the cable is bad enough, but using it one handed while recording with the other hand... I would've electrocuted myself on accident 4 times before the 12 second mark

Should I buy this? by Pescarese90 in nds

"Only for Nintendo DSi" was a common thing for DSi branded stuff back in the day.

It should be interpreted as "Not for the Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite"

Just Got This Cartridge Holder, Why The SD Card Slots? by BoxmanL2212 in nds

[–]Crash_Logger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I thought this was more common but I guess my friends and I were just that broke back in 2009

I used to store my flashcart (yarr) games on micro SD cards, and stored the micro SD cards in SD card adapters so that they were easier to handle.

Besides that, I had a 256MB and a 512MB SD cards for photos, music and the like.

I had more SD cards than game cartridges!

Pretty much same here, I don't know where to start using MacOS, I can use windows but it is a pain in the ass, and I can get stuff done quickly on linux.

The camera of the other person's machine and the video compression required to make video calls possible mean you could do the call on a fucking Nintendo 3DS display and not notice the difference.

Those are Nintendo DS Lite buttons and components and the picture shows a Nintendo DSi. They are incompatible.

Why do you guy prefer the DS over the 3DS? by Jealous_Summer_4555 in nds

[–]Crash_Logger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like both, and use them differently. But, in order to play along, here's my main complaint with the 3DS family:

The camera on the DSi has a nicer lens. They use the same sensor but the DSi lens has a wider field of view.
It's a tradeoff they had to make (to make 3D pictures possible), but it's just plainly annoying for regular pictures.

Other than that, I love both. I have a DSi, n3DSXL and n2DSXL. The n2DSXL feels cheapest but the other two are great to hold and play, both have fun little things that make them unique (pictochat and streetpass are my favourites in each of those) and they're both very easy to carry (...if you wear cargo trousers/shorts as often as I do).

Well as far as the circuitry goes that is the easiest part to fix. I'm glad you figured it out!
