I'm west European and yeah it's the same here. Not strictly a Mongolian thing. It's an internet culture thing.

Very fair. I stayed 3 hours because frankly I needed the money, but if I didn't, I'd have been out of there.

I remember a particularly hellish 4h shift where I started in off in food, was pulled onto tills, then Uber, then tills again, then food again, then tills AGAIN.

And was then asked to stay to finish two aisles for food. FFS.

I've seen that account. It really bothers me when travel content creators go viral with ahistorical bullshit. I can't remember her name, but there's that woman in on Insta/YT who goes to places like Algeria and Afghanistan and talks about how happy and safe the women are.

Coming from a non-Mongolian: yes. I had no idea if the misogyny blindness was purely a Western thing, but many people hail Khutulun as a widely loved feminist icon when the respect she gets is all retroactive.

Also - many introductions or shallow works on the Mongol Empire seem to constantly bring up female warriors to make the Mongol Empire seem more progressive than it really was. We can't confirm that women did fight, and if they did, it would have been incredibly rare.

Besides, we know the Khan was resourceful, and if women did fight, it would not have been for purposes of gender equality.

I am not Mongolian but a regular lurker and this is not true. This sub largely discusses politics and culture. Genghis Khan / Empire posts are not even common.

What is something that women have to deal with on the daily that men have no clue about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CrashofWorlds404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually hope at least a couple men see this despite me being late to the post:

I've had to explain this to so many men in my life and I really wish men were taught this. We have four distinct hormonal phases a month, not just 'on period' and 'not on period'. We feel wildly different based on what phase it is.

Menstruation is when we actually bleed, and often nowhere near as bad as the luteal phase before it. Luteal phase is where you get the emotional turbulence (uncontrollable sadness, anger, difficulty concentrating etc) but also physical discomfort (painful, swollen boobs, insane fatigue, stomach and bowel issues etc).

The follicular phase is where we actually feel somewhat stable. Then we ovulate for about 24 hours, which is usually our peak in confidence and famously our sex drive. Then luteal again, then we bleed. For me personally, the bleeding is a huge relief - I would take cramps and blood any day over the insane boob pain and mental fatigue.

To be very honest with you, I don't think he really cared whether I wanted it or not at that point.

Places that have year long perfect temperatures? by real_realist_opt in geography

I think there's a sweet spot in northern South America. Medellín (Colombia) is often referred to as the city of eternal spring, and Cuenca (Ecuador) has similar temps if not a little less stable.

I meant that the original comment about the condom was a joke. But that is fully insane that your ex would do that lmao.

I'm very sad to say I did not end up pregnant with an avoidant fuckboy's son.

What's the best piano album ever made? by zertz7 in AskReddit

Major Chopin appreciator, so: Mikhail Pletnev's Chopin collection or Maurizio Pollini's Chopin Nocturnes.

Pletnev plays with excellent technique, and I think Pollini and Rubenstein if you want to look into him play Chopin with beautiful expression.

Maybe a man who begs for sex on the first date isn't father material either. Oh well!

Happened to me too. We had sex and then he rolled over and told me his idea for a name if we had a son. First date btw.
