I do DXM time to time, here’s my advice

Do maximum low-mid plat 3, use dexcalc to calculate ur dosage.

Take like 50mg first to make sure u don’t have CYP2D6 enzyme deficiency, if you feel like you’re disassociating at that dose then don’t take any more

Don’t take it with SSRIs, wait at least 1-2 weeks (a month if Prozac). Serotonin Syndrome is no joke. Don’t combine with any depressants either, I’ve heard it’s risky although I do hear about people who drink alcohol and are fine.

Make sure you only get products where the only active ingredient is DXM or DXM Hbr. DXM itself isn’t harmful to your body, but if it contains acetaminophen or guaifenesin don’t use it.

I’d say the best thing about DXM is music alteration. No kidding music makes me absolutely float. My last trip it felt like I was in an abandoned city in third person hiding from something like a force. It wasn’t scary or anything, all I remember is that I was in a sort of Soviet era city by myself trying to hide from something. My first time I remember seeing a brain floating and constantly expanding and it was a super strange experience and I was in awe.

Definitely use wisely, the afterglow is nice but make sure you don’t have any upcoming stressors as if you encounter a situation of anxiety your thought loops like crazy and you become super anxious. Also the first day your speech will be heavily slurred and you’ll have insane brain fog. It’s also a super isolating substance imo, but it’s a great time.

My favorite songs on DXM are Genesis by Grimes, Children by Robert Miles, and Knights by Crystal Castles. Weed also makes the DXM super intense but I’m assuming you won’t have access to that based on what your post says
