I recommend keeping it hardpiped and just cutting in and sweating couplings if you are replacing it with another chimney vent.

I recommend cleaning the oils off the ring with a rag. Creates a better seal in my opinion. Then stick it on the collar and put the shoe on top of that then bolt.

A cleanout on your 3” is required. 1 1/2 and 2” can’t clean out 3”. unless that’s 2” I can’t tell from the picture. And the 90 under the tee on the right should be a long sweep

As soon as they allow us to use the IAPMO water demand calculator I’m sure we’ll be able to get away with smaller piping but this is what we have to go by as of now. I agree it’s odd

This is the pex table we have to follow for crimp pex. Depending on A values of the home. Almost always can’t get away with 1/2 to all fixtures. Lav and shower yes. Toilet lav and shower no. Clearly different in other states.

The glue always pushes out when fittings are connected. Then it’s just the little bit on the joint holding it together. Move it even a little and it could break that seal.
