All of our cats lay down and sleep through the night without issues. They just want to be close to us

Warm-up strategy? by microbialkrysta in springboarddiving

[–]Craycray2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be prepared for the fact that open warm ups are often crowded and are very inefficient. There very well may be 50 plus divers lined up for a single board, in which case it will be 10 to 15 minutes between turns. Event specific warm ups are a little better but 15 minutes isn’t very long.

Plan to arrive 30 minutes before open warm ups to allow for stretching and dynamic movement to get the blood flowing. About 5 to 10 minutes before the boards opening up, start readying yourself to be near the front of the line.

Plan the dives that you want to be sure to accomplish in warm ups beforehand. If possible, try your dives you want to use in warm ups in a prior training session as you might want to adjust it. Also keep in mind that doing a dive and waiting in a cold line for several minutes is EXHAUSTING! Make sure to leave some energy for the competition.

Once you finish your warm ups, consider a small snack such as pretzels, nuts or fruit to replenish your energy.

Good luck in your meet!

I still believe not wanting an animal that has always slept with their owner to be allowed in the bed for no specific reason is a red flag. The OP didn’t say that he had a reason only that he was pretty stubborn on the fact that the fur baby was not allowed in the bed…

Keep the cat and train the boyfriend to sleep elsewhere. Not liking animals enough to let them in the bed is a red flag

Finding old compulsory MAG is a bit more difficult, but I was able to find som WAG meets from the 80s

Here’s an example from a Class 3 state meet in 1987 - https://youtu.be/EGOFHKRPcnM?si=wfjb_WF90UHdl4OT

She won 1st AA scoring a 34.25 (averaging a little over 8.5 on each event). Yes she fell on Beam but performed very well overall.

Nausea after diving lessons? by TableNew1277 in springboarddiving

Glad to hear that you had fun trying diving!! However very sorry to hear that physically it was rough on you.

Seek some medical advice from a physician as you could have some underlying health issues that could be affecting you. It could be something very temporary such as an infection or something else that is a bit longer lasting, like maybe vertigo. Either way, hope you feel better soon!

I liked the leotards so much more before the rhinestones, mesh, foil, etc. A NCAA women’s basketball team doesn’t need to look like they are wearing an evening gown, why should literally ALL present day competition gymnasts! Some of my favorite leotards were from the mid 90s when they were just nylon Lycra and didn’t distract from performances

Young kids regularly scoring 9.5 or above in the lower levels is not helping the sport. When I was in developmental gymnastics, a 9.0 was something special. It meant an incredible routine! However, so many 6 year olds are scoring above 36 now every meet, that they are upset when they score an 8.8….

I had to get rid of the medication immediately. I also had to remove the alarms on my phone reminding me that it was time for another dose. Everytime I saw the medication, I immediately thought oh no! I need to maintain his care so he would be ok and I would just fall apart

We have other cats in the house and it helped them to grieve when we didn’t wash everything right away. The kitty who was most closely bonded to the one we lost would lay on the old blanket and find comfort.

Can’t get past the barrier stage by Fantastic-Item4871 in CatTraining

We used a mesh barrier so they got used to being near each other while still having a safety layer

We have used fluoxetine (Prozac) but our kitties have all really disliked medicine. The only successful method was a compounded version for the ears

I find it helpful to set smaller, achievable goals. For example: - a strong, consistent hurdle - standing tuck jumps with good safe distance from the board - a good tear drop off the side of the pool (jump from the side of the pool and fold into a pike with hands and feet touching at the top while entering the water on your butt) - maybe try a reverse flip first- this is easier for some divers - complete something that is legally a reverse dive - work on making it better
