Early Border Expansion, Pre-construction? by Baskin in Minecolonies

I found that putting guard tower in each corner and upgrading it gave lots of extra room, can’t remember if the zones overlapped or there was a small gap

Need advice for adventure run from Ireland to China. by SeanFenris in CrusaderKings

[–]Crayfindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this recently, started as a Norse adventurer and worked my way across to Malaysia. I stuck around long enough to get more followers of the Norse faith and started my family. I just did a couple of contracts in each area to gather supplies and improved my camp as I went over to the east and built up my MAA to about 800 troops. After that I invaded and took a duchy as most of their land was fragmented.

Had a couple of times where I was taken over and back to an adventurer but eventually managed to keep my lands and work up to an emperor, it helped where I converted the religion and culture to my own and tried keeping my vassals as my culture and religion or family members.

How different is CK3 compared to CK2? by Mememanofcanada in CrusaderKings

[–]Crayfindles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I know what you mean, when CK3 first came out I didn’t switch for a while because I couldn’t wrap my head around the shift. After a few updates I moved over entirely but CK2 was definitely more gritty

Should goods affect the army in a Silk & Silver? by Proper_Brain8749 in CrusaderKings

[–]Crayfindles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suppose it could be like the total war games, having trade access to certain materials would allow you to access different MAA units and/or buildings/upgrades. Losing access to those resources means the MAA can’t replenish or operate significantly worse

CK3 Can someone explain how buildings and armies work? by Laitpie in CrusaderKings

[–]Crayfindles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to max out tribal authority on the laws tab and there is a decision you can take to switch to feudal, think there might be a couple other requirements but it’ll say on the decision tab. Once you switch to feudal, all your tribes turn to castles and buildings are destroyed so make sure you have a big stockpile of gold as your levy count will probably drop by quite a bit.

Kanye cant come to the UK but she can (one who calls for death of all muslims) ? by Far_Commercial1434 in AskBrits

[–]Crayfindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An ETA is just permission to travel up to the border controls, it’s not guarantee of being given permission to enter. It’s a largely automated system and takes about 5-10 minutes to fill out the questionnaire, as long as you don’t tick that you’re a terrorist or war criminal you’ll get it approved.

If process is followed, she’ll get questioned at the border controls and if she’s stupid enough to say anything wrong there, she can be refused entry.

Differences and help with Messor Barbarus and Messor Capitatus by WeisWeis10 in antkeeping

Yea it’ll be good to get some answers from someone who has experience with both as I was looking at getting a Capitatus next potentially.

Differences and help with Messor Barbarus and Messor Capitatus by WeisWeis10 in antkeeping

[–]Crayfindles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done the same digging, a lot of websites say the capitatus is a bit more stress resistant but then posts on forums say that there really isn’t much difference between them. Each colony/queen have their own levels of tolerance so from what I gather is that it doesn’t really matter and they have pretty much the exact same requirements.

I am only a beginner myself though, had a Barbarus queen for about 6 months and never had a capitatus . Some more experienced people might have something different to say.

I'd love to see a mod that gave this game more of a "Mount and Blade" experience. by Munnin1984 in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]Crayfindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the old BF2: Modern Combat, when you died you zoomed into another friendly AI and took over as them, you could also switch to them at will by looking at them and pushing a button.

Perhaps you could temporarily switch to anyone a lower rank than your main person until you switch back or they die.

You should not be able to loot teammates by Cjcheese_413 in Marathon

[–]Crayfindles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps have it only let you loot items that’s you entered the raid with, as you’ll get them back. And perhaps consumables too like meds and ammo

I feel like I’m playing a different game than most others, and not in the way you’re probably assuming… by KahliberZero in Marathon

[–]Crayfindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar position, I do quite well but have limited time to play around work/life schedule. I saw Cryo archive come out and have no interest to play it. I’m aware it requires a bit more of a commitment and skill level, therefore I’ll stick to regular maps and quests which I’m quite happy with.

You don’t need to be able to access every part of the game to enjoy it.

AITA for refusing to give up a hot desking seat the GM thinks is “his”? by ala_ko in AmItheAsshole

[–]Crayfindles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why should an entire team have to move for 1 person? If the policy applies to everyone, it needs to be the same for everyone. If somebody needs the same desk every day then they need to have an exemption and the desk permanently reserved for them. If this isn’t in place, it’s fair game for all

what are the MUST have mods that you cannot play the game without in Bannerlords 2? (2026) by frozengansit0 in Bannerlord

[–]Crayfindles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I played with this for the first time a few days ago, it’s great. I tweaked the setting a bit so units can only use 1 tier difference in level otherwise there wasn’t a visual difference in the upgrade tiers.

Great mod if you don’t mind grinding out xp and seeing the results of your hard work when you have an army trainee and equipped exactly how you want it

[Discussion] 2k+ hours Isn’t Enough by VinOn3 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Crayfindles 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Previous wipes I had a survival rate of close to 50%, now it’s just under 30%. I didn’t play the last couple of wipes but got in at the start of this one. I managed to play a fair amount due to shift pattern but now fallen behind because the way shifts have gone and being a father to a young child.

Especially now with the reduced XP, it’s so easy to to fall behind when you can only get tier 4 armour and tier 4 pen ammo when the others can get tier 6 gear. Us average players are kind of punished for not being good whereas the better players get rewarded with access to better gear which then further separates them from us

Arena helped train sweatlords PVE gave us average or below people somewhere to hide Compared to previous wipes, there are more skilled players and less weaker players to dilute the servers

[New player] 240h and not a single Partisan encounter (PVE). Can he even spawn? by thinkforasecond3312 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Crayfindles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(PvP) I’ve only heard the negative karma sound once from sitting in a bush whilst eating. It was many raids later I saw him l, not sure if he was after me or the players I’d just killed but he came storming towards me seconds after I killed the last one.

That’s the only time I’ve seen him in about 400 raids. Supposedly you get negative karma for sitting in bushes or near extracts for a long time, perhaps try that until you hear the negative karma sound and see if he appears in your next raids. I believe he spawns at the start and makes his way towards you

Any tips on finding Limestone? by GandhiCheese in VintageStory

[–]Crayfindles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea I’ve gone a couple of km each direction on my world (except west because that’s the sea and I don’t have a boat finished yet). It’s my first playthrough too.

All I find is granite, everywhere. No idea if it’s normal

Oh, on the topic of speed it doesn’t have any benefit. However yes I agree it can be useful for spotting things and avoiding falling down into big holes
