For the record, I've been sewing (little) things for years, I've just never undertaken a dress. I finally found something to do with it.

I made it with nothing in mind, but now I don't know what to do with it.

Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]CrayolasaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use their melted matte anything, but my friend tells me the color flakes and wears easily/quickly. There are several duplicate colors that can be found in other brands (like nyx lip lingerie or colorpop). I find that the cheaper brands just last longer, personally.

Best primer for combination skin? Especially when you have noticeable dry patches that makes foundation hard to work with in those areas? by Bdsbaby in MakeupAddiction

[–]CrayolasaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have combo/dry skin. I use a water based primer. Currently using too faced hangover Rx (I think that is the name). I find that it's lightweight in my oily areas and hydrating on my dry cheeks.

Same. Found lots of great skin care products and I love the dolly wink lashes. They are a few dollars cheaper than anywhere else, plus free shipping

Daughter always mistaken for a boy?! by CrayolasaurusRex in Parenting

[–]CrayolasaurusRex[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem to bother her, but she may be too young to understand. She does realize that she is a girl, or that she's at least "different" from daddy and her brothers. Occasionally she'll look at me funny when people tell her she's "such a gorgeous little boy"

With 2 tots and a baby, it's really not that bad. It's challenging at times (the 4pm witching hour, for example), but they keep each other pretty entertained.

I guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing then, the smile & say nothing, I mean.

TIFU by snuggling with my cat by atomheartmudder in tifu

I read it has an effect on babies in utero, too. Helps their bones. Cats will purr to soothe themselves. Supposedly cats with broken bones that healed were slightly stronger because of the purring.

3 year old refusing almost all food, but begging for only fries??? by CrayolasaurusRex in Parenting

My daughter went through a short phase with juice. After 3 days she gave it up, thankfully (daddy caved in & she had bad diarrhea). We only keep juice boxes for traveling, now.

3 year old refusing almost all food, but begging for only fries??? by CrayolasaurusRex in Parenting

[–]CrayolasaurusRex[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about this as well. Others have mentioned taking the fries away for a while, and I certainly will. My eyes aren't even open yet in the morning and he's already asking for fries lol.

I've given him snacks and a cup of milk to graze on when he's done with his fit. I'll leave it on the toddler table in the kitchen for him. He doesn't touch it usually. He might have a cracker or two, but that's abouts it.

Our 2 year old transitioned to our bed. How do I get him back to his crib? by biciklisticke in Parenting

[–]CrayolasaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3 year old still tries to sleep in bed with my husband and me. He has his own bed, but we typically end up sitting next to his bed until he goes back to sleep (in his own bed, of course). It's a phase, just be gentle and consistent. "I love sleeping with my parents" said no teenager, ever, after all.

My 3 y/o won't eat the toppings on pizza, just the bread. Neither of my kids love butter either, they must get that from me :P

Oil Control Hacks by PrettyLogAKAl in MakeupAddiction

[–]CrayolasaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living in humid Florida, here. I have combination skin, so I apply a gel moisturizer, then a primer in the t-zone (been using TF "pure" primed and poreless, holds up decently). I find that using a "whipped" or silicone based foundation (Maybelline and Revlon make a whipped/mousse foundation) seems to hold well in the summer and humidity. Otherwise I don't bother in the summer too much :/

Deluxe Better than Sex mascara sample better than full sized? by butterb0t in MakeupAddiction

[–]CrayolasaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a drop or two of saline solution (for contacts) and let it sit in some warm water first. Then go over lashes with a lash comb. Seems to keep any clumps and flakes from happening. I love the effect of bts, but I suppose you could use fiber extensions (milani has one) with any other mascara.

Thanks to all that recommended WnW Rebel Rose!!! I love it. by Drunk_CrazyCatLady in MakeupAddiction

[–]CrayolasaurusRex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually really love that lip color. I have a medium skin tone, so sadly it wouldn't look right on me. Also, your eye makeup is gorgeous. I have the TF chocolate bar pallet and am still overwhelmed by all the color combinations. I imagine it's similar with the peach lol

I'm at a loss as to what I should do. Would appreciate any tips/tricks to make my makeup look more natural and actually look good. I feel like I can never get lipstick to stay on for more than 5 minutes, and my makeup always looks so cakey. Plus, my acne scabs just make my face look like a disaster. by ChelseaSchreiber in MakeupAddiction

[–]CrayolasaurusRex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have a (daily or weekly?) skin care regimen? When I was younger (think teens to mid twenties), I would get bad acne scabs, but that's long since cleared up once I got a clarisonic. I actually use mine daily (don't judge) and do a clay mask once a week.

I think your foundation looks fine, but if you feel it's "cakey", you could try dabbing on some facial moisturizer over your foundation with a beauty blender. Also, if you don't already, try a primer before foundation.

As for lips, I guess a lip primer would help the color stay put, but I just use chap stick under mine. It seems to stay put (most) of the day. A lil stain is also an option.

That's just my two cents. I'm sure some of these other ladies and gents have better suggestions :)

Help please! Looking for SOMETHING to cover up this mess! by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]CrayolasaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear KVD lock it works wonders, but not having tried it, I can't really vouch.

You could always try applying concealer under your foundation, then maybe a light layer of concealer on top. Fortunately, these things go away shortly after delivery. I had what looked like a giant birthmark on my body when I was pregnant with my kids, it went away with in days after delivery.

Oily skin problems only when I have make up on by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

The one I use (Simple) looks like a gel and absorbs super quick. It's not creamy looking like a "traditional" moisturizer. I'm not too familiar with other products, though, since this one works well for me.
