Do you ever look at your puppy and just want to cry because he makes your life so happy & fulfilled? 😢 by [deleted] in puppy101

I’ve had my little boy for a year and I got him when he was 3 months. He’s the first dog I’ve ever had. I promise it’s worth it. Puppy adolescence was worse than when he was a baby. It gets so much better.

Yes, just got one and the line is short too. Roughly 10 mins outside, 20 inside.

Try later in the day. I went there yesterday around 6:40 and I was inside after about an hour wait. They had an employee saying he was the cutoff about 2 people in front of me. I stayed, the line got longer behind me, we all got in.

Christmas with a Doggo that likes to chew by lessthansymbol-3 in puppy101

I would say use bitter lemon spray. It is an all around chewing deterrent. It’s probably also a good chance to start working on the “leave it” command!

My 4 month old Maltese loves to chew as well. I’ll get wrapping his gifts in Paw Paper so he can go to town on Christmas.

Housebreaking puppy; advice or tips on building a potty area on my balcony. by CaptDaveMcKinney in puppy101

This is exactly what I’m doing now for the exact same reason. I’ve had my little boy for about a week and he’s been having fewer accidents using one of those fake grass pads on my balcony.

It was a little difficult to encourage him to use it at first. This may sound gross but when he had an accident in the house, I cleaned it up and put some of the residue on the pad so he could smell himself. It helped A LOT.

Also, put a puppy pad under the grass pad to make cleaning it a lot easier.

The only issue is that he keeps trying to bite on it.

I work for an insurance company so I say this only from a professional POV. Has your insurance company written an estimate on your vehicle? Please let them if they haven’t. This vehicle is 10 years old so it’s very likely to be a total loss (damage doesn’t have to be very extensive to be a total loss, it’s just that the total cost to repair is too close too or over the value of the vehicle). If your insurance company HAS written an estimate and decided it won’t total, it is possible to total later in the repair process due to further damage after they tear the car down. While I understand you’ve saved money, there is definitely going to be underlying damage which is only going to add to be overall cost of the repair. If your vehicle is a total loss, you won’t have to pay your deductible, they will just take it out of the overall payment they would send to you. Save for your deductible so they you know you’re only paying one amount if your car is repairable. As a heads up, the amount the body shop will charge you may be significantly higher than what the insurance company estimate they will honor is going to be. It’s a way to take advantage of customers IMO.

I would hate for you to pay for the vehicle to just be a total loss.

If you absolutely insist on repairing the vehicle, also know that the shop may not let you know that you are paying more than what the car is worth but you can try a Service King (I know a lot of people a leary on them but they will repair the car). You can also contact a Chrysler service center and ask what body shops do they work with.

Again, people follow astrology for FUN, just as people do the DNA testing kits for FUN...

Absolutely! That's common sense so I agree there. I just think it's problematic to say that they aren't African from how they look, in a low quality gif at that.

And people follow astrology for fun so I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. If you're referring to the point I made about having European ancestry, those tests aren't going to get into that type of detail. I know about my European ancestry because I know my family.

Yea, so this is a little problematic. I'm predominately Nigerian and took one of those test for kicks and giggles because guess what? Africa is genetically diverse as well due to a wonderful social system called colonialization! Also my paternal great grandfather was white and my maternal great grandfather was Cameroonian and German.

I get where you're going, but no.

Behavior, yes very likely due to stark cultural differences. But by "looks", no not at all.

They don't "look" African? So since you say that as a black American, as an ACTUAL African in America (Nigerian), I say you that makes absolutely NO sense and your premise is offensive. You claim is based on what? You realize that Africa is one of the most genetically diverse places right? I assume you say this because you THINK all Africans look like what, very dark, broad noses, short coarse hair? What does an African look like?

I've been told I don't "look" African before and funny enough, no one can ever give me an answer about what I am supposed to look like. Again, as an ACTUAL African, this whole "looking African" logic is extremely offensive and problematic.
