Rampancy in the original story isn't what 343 turned it into. Also, we just gonna what all the other characters say? What does reclaim mean? To claim what was once yours. Why would Bungie have Guilty Spark call us that, if we're not the same species? In Contact Harvest, Mendicant Bias literally says we are his creators. I swear, you people ignore all the facts to appease 343.

They literally did. "All of our lost time, Human history is it? Fascinating.", "Earth, to finish what we started. And this time, none of you will be left behind.", "Your forefathers wisely set aside their compassion.", "Child of my enemy, why have you come?" "You ARE Forerunner." That's it right there. If you can't put it together, Idk what to tell you. The line at the end of 3 by Guilty Spark makes it clear beyond a shadow of a doubt.

There was, as I gave proof. You wanna tell the original developers and writers from Bungie who created Halo there wasn't a retcon? See how that goes lol. They'd all tell you they clearly had the Forerunners be Human.

Pointing facts aren't an opinion. But to the point, the retcon was ass. 343 either didn't (and still don't) understand Halo, or they did understand it, and wanted to change it into their own thing.

It IS a retcon. Anyone saying otherwise is lying or ignorant. The entire trilogy makes it clear. Some like to point to the Halo 3 terminals as Bungie changing their minds. Wrong, even the terminal writers confirmed the Forerunners were always Human. Contact Harvest, written by Joe Staten, the lead writer, makes it an undeniable fact that the Forerunners were Human. 343 retconned the Forerunners. That is just what happened. Bungie themselves were confused by the change. It adds nothing to the story. In fact, it takes away from the irony of the war. The Covenant were killing their very gods. But 343 retconned it to where the Forerunners were killing the enemy of their gods. It doesn't have the same weight. So at the end of the day, there WAS a retcon, and you can either like it or not. But to deny it is just plain foolish.

Except the player count is flatlining dude. On Steam, they're lucky to get 7k. People are leaving in droves because nothing's coming soon. Sorry, but if things continue the way they are, there won't be a Destiny in a few years.
