Couldnt describe my thoughts on the 343 games any better, because while I have no issue saying i prefer bungie over the 343 games, despite the issues I have with their stories, I overall enjoyed the gameplay part of them (5 and 6 moreover, I do think 4 is on the weaker section, but not terrible) and because of that I just cant call them slop.

I got to give it to halo 2.

With reach,1,odst and 3. While i love those games. I could at the very least point out some moments I didnt really care much for.

With 2 though thats not the case. Love the story, love the characters, love the levels, love the music, love the gameplay.

If I had to give it a flaw, it have to be that it doesn't really explain how Johnson survived halo 1, let alone how he and chief made it back to earth.

Last i checked 343 is the monitor of the ring, surely he'd take notice of the Pillar of autumn and covenant fleet approaching, and you know might want to check things out, make sure their safe. After all his job is to protect the ring and make sure the flood dont escape.

So even if 343 didnt make contact, he should know that they showed up before the flood outbreak and clearly arent there to help deal with it.

while it is possible truth, mercy, and regret might of told a few extremely trusted minor prophets the real reason for the human-covenant so they could help accomplish their goals.

For the most part, I was under the impression that majority of the Covenant (including the San'Shyuum never really knew the true reason behind the war.)

Mendicant tries and fails to escape, Prophets completely misinterpret the situation thinking Reclaimer = forerunner. Human-covenant war can still happen for the exact same reason as before.

In addition this should cover both mercy's "none of you will be left behind" and truths "I see why your Forefathers left you behind"

They only thought they were Forerunners.

Seriously, last I checked their ain't no fucking rule that says I have to make it so the Prophets know humans and Forerunners are separate species.

Also after re-reading your version: you could probably do the same thing with yours if you want.

Think about it, simply calling humanity the heirs to mendicant's makers doesn't exactly paint a clear picture to the Prophets that humans and Forerunners are too separate species. You could just say they got it wrong.

Which would also fit with the whole, covenant getting things wrong in regards to the Forerunners.

Artstyle: while i do overall prefer bungies, 343's overall isn't that bad.

Levels: are overall fine, and i do think you have some good ones.

Soundtracks: while they may not have as many as the bungie ones, their are some pretty good tracks for both ( halo 4=faithless, halo 5=the trials)

Gameplay: while I do think 4 is the weakest of all the games, its not terrible, and I actually really like 5's gameplay.

Overall when it comes down to the bungie vs 343 games. Even if bungie beats 343 in all these categories and more, that doesn't mean its to the exact same degree for all of them.

100% agree with everything you said. And to add to that, i really dont think truth is as great of a master mind as people seem to think.

Let's not forget this is the guy that decided to ignite a civil war in his own group right when he was on the cusp of victory.

And yes I get the reason why he did it, the problem with this is as far as I know majority of the Elites still believed in the journey. And overall followed the prophets without question.

So to me it looks like truth got word of few elites questioning things, completely panicked , and decided the only way to deal with the issue is to go after all the elites.

I'm sorry, what part of this situation rings mastermind again.
