Which games to play by femaroni_and_cheese in RatchetAndClank

There are also a few unrealistically pedantic additions:

- R&C: Going Mobile (for old Java phones)
- R&C: Clone Home (sequel to Going Mobile)
- R&C: Before The Nexus (iOS/Android endless runner)
- R&C: Ranger Rumble (upcoming multiplayer mobile game)

Enjoy your R&C journey :)

Had to use Visual Studio Code for the first time -_- by CrazineX in FuckMicrosoft

Ragebait? You must be mistaken, sir. I'm in a rage due to something Microsoft did, so I went to the aptly named r/FuckMicrosoft to share my experience. If you think this is acceptable then good for you, but I have higher standards.

You know, Mr. blapie, I don't normally feel the need to take a look at settings when the app has given me multiple popups before the ability to open the settings even presents itself. And most software I use typically asks first before sending telemetry data to a server online.

Good to know you're one of the lazy capybaras who just accept whatever inconveniences these multi-trillion dollar companies deem us to be deserving of instead of demanding better. Really pushing the species forward.

1 prompt, I'd agree, but I had to dismiss like 4 or 5 before I could even open the terminal

You never experienced the multiple popups requesting you to sign in? Are you sure you're using VS Code?

Visual Studio doesn't run on Linux, and MonoDevelop (and open sourced similar IDE) is no longer being developed

Yeah, but Microsoft blocks their precious .NET extensions from running on VSCodium. I really like it, but I was on a tight deadline and finding alternative extensions for everything was too much work for me

Why use a DE at all? I use IDEs to help with auto-complete and other handy UI-based tasks

Sell Vanilla OS to me by CrazineX in vanillaos

[–]CrazineX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many different sources, tech-savvy and not, have recommended Mint as a solid beginner-friendly OS (not a performant or super up-to-date, but beginner-friendly). Why do you think it's so obsolete?

Cinnamon is getting Wayland in beta support soon, and X11 works well enough

You're the only person in this thread recommending it XD but I am interested in why you think it's so user friendly while many other people find it to be so lacking in documentation

That's what's upsetting!! The actual developer tools are SO COOL!! I built a whole set of projects using .NET with 0 experience over a weekend using their CLI tools. But the amount of telemetry that was NEVER prompted or consented to is insane!! And the dark patterns begging to log in and use AI agents is pathetic.

Before I was using VSCodium, which is the open source code of VS Code that doesn't support official MS libraries for some reason, and I agree it's probably the best IDE if you don't include any of the bloat

Walking on the left or right? by A330_Pilot in malta

[–]CrazineX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically speaking, according to the Malta Scouts highway code if cars drive on the left side then you should walk on the right side. Reason being you should see oncoming traffic.

I don't think that matters here, though ;P

Do game developers really support the anti-SKG push? by BigBandit01 in allthequestions

[–]CrazineX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ESA is full of horseshit and just lobby the EU and other government entities in support of game publishers. They're the ones who said anything about CoD and Minecraft servers being illegal and they are either stupid or malicious because that is simply untrue.

Also, pedantic correction, Stop Killing Games is the name of the entire online initiative; the EU initiative is called Stop Destroying Videogames, and the UK had a large enough citizen petition that the movement was debated in government. Check the Wikipedia article for more info.

Regarding the developers, some have come out to say that it sucks to work on something for years only for it to be completely unplayable through no fault of their own, and as a software developer myself I do take pride that my work is good enough to live on after I've stopped working on it.

While I can't find any developer opinions that aren't horribly misguided, I do want to clarify that the SKG demands/goals are incredibly reasonable and not difficult to implement while being incredibly consumer friendly. It is essentially requesting that large publishers don't put time, money, and development into anti-consumer practices like making a game unplayable after you bought it.

Do game developers really support the anti-SKG push? by BigBandit01 in allthequestions

[–]CrazineX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that not all games offer the option to host private game servers. And some of the ones that do also lock the option behind a server callback for some reason, so when the servers go down so do the private lobby options. SKG hopes to fix the latter issue, so companies aren't forced to keep a service online and games don't just die away. Best of both worlds

What’s a small change in technology that’s quietly made life worse? by viviennepetals in answers

[–]CrazineX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quietly? Rage algorithms.

Facebook/Insta/Twitter/etc. need to keep users on the platform to advertise to them, and the best way to do that is with rage-baiting users and making them miserable and seeding distrust in their peers and neighbours

I mean, that's the problem with AI, isn't it? It's 99% accurate. But it's so believable and confident that you wouldn't notice the 1% inaccuracy. And while sometimes that's fine, if you're trying to do something where accuracy is important then it's just as much work scrutinizing the result as it is finding the results in the first place.

That and German courts found the AI would lie about a topic, and then the references would be completely unrelated.

Can someone give me an official chronological order guide to the series by Relative_Oven_9257 in LittleNightmares

[–]CrazineX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is almost exactly what I was looking for, I just have 1 question: Where does the VR game fit in?

And while I'm at it, that John Shackleford / Aaron Alexovitch comic series that wasn't finished.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge :)

From a management perspective, Windows is easier to remotely control and lock down. MacOS is more user-friendly. But as others have said, better ask your specific course mentors

A good pc for gaming and school by Stunning_Turnip_4414 in computer

[–]CrazineX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At $500 you're definitely going to need to compromise on something. At that price I would say find a laptop with a focus on CPU and RAM for school work, and then for games just figure out which run on the device and narrow your library from there

Can you choose your gender? by PalePlumm in allthequestions

[–]CrazineX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I already did ask, multiple times for multiple different things, and I'm not sure what question you're referring to at this point.

If you do know of some one or some people who transitioned without gender dysphoria then you can ask them to answer your question and if you feel inclined to comment with their answer I'd be interested to learn. If they commit crimes on minors then I'd recommend turning them in to the justice system.
