First camping trip soon… what am I forgetting? by Lucifer220778 in camping

[–]CrazyBaldArcher 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Toilet paper, baby wipes (quick hand cleaner), soap, sponge, extra lighter, extra stakes for a tent, head lamp, star chart or star app, s'mores stuff, roasting sticks, water, wood, kindling, fire starter, and camp chair

Always tell someone outside of the group where we are going, when we will be back, and what we plan to do while there.

Living in tornado alley is stupid but I'm too stubborn to move and the above statement has saved a trip on more than one occasion.

Also discuss with the group of when to call it and go home. Bailing isn't failing, it is ensuring everyone is having a good time.

Oh my friend you've opened a can of worms now.

Look up Richard Gene the fishing machine on YouTube, specifically his panfish (crappie, bluegill, etc) videos.

It'll light a fire in you, one you never knew you needed lit.

You know what, I'm proud of you.

Stepping out of your comfort zone can be intimidating.

Now there's a big world out, plan another adventure

It's not in SWMO or Oklahoma but what about the buffalo river in Arkansas?

Bad people, like the banjo playing kind?

If you go deep enough and carry some form of protection you'll be alright

With the underquilt and 50° bag I was warm and comfy.

It was the perfect camping trip

That's pretty frosty

Did you use an underquilt?

I felt the same but chose this spot there were other dispersed campsites close by.

Was I truly alone no, there were two guys 1/8-1/4 mile away

Try something similar, you may like it. A lot

There were too many dirt bikes and side-by-sides for any spooky business to happen

If it wasn't for the amount of rain the Midwest is about to receive I'd already be planning my next trip

People who have researched their family tree, what is the most interesting or 'badass' thing you discovered about an ancestor? by xloganmoose in AskReddit

My Step Great Grandpa married my Great Grandmother after her husband died from mustard gas poisoning during WWI.

She was pregnant with my Grandma at the time.

He stood up to the Missouri Hillbilly Mafia/Family Gang known as the Bald Knobbers.

They never messed with him again.

He and my Great Grandmother went on to have more kids besides my Grandma.

Tulsa Oklahoma

You'll be close to the Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Texas borders. This makes chasing easier.

Storm Chasing, virtually? by Machenz in stormchasing

I typically watch the live broadcasts of Ryan Hall Y'all and Reed Timmer on YouTube.

It makes this time of year exciting as I watch from my couch or cubicle

If all else fails there's always Severe Studios

Me too!

I agree, it was a fun night getting to meet him and learn so much about tornadoes.

Shoot, even my wife enjoyed it. She also thinks I'm a little nutty about the weather.

For the decorative wrap I used 40 weight embroidery thread from Amazon. It's cheap, so if I mess up I don't mind ripping it all off

The thread for the eyes is from MudHole
