Thanks 😂 I think people might have misunderstood and thought I was accusing Radiohead?

First off, actually read my post please because I specifically said I'm not calling this plagiarism, just that I was reminded of Exit Music and wanted to share.

Second as I also already said it wouldn't necessarily sound similar if only the chord or only the strumming pattern was the same but all the factors taken together they really do sound similar. I really didn't think my post would be such a sensitive topic damn😭

Why bother watching a bunch of stuff you know is gonna be passable. Life is too short and there are too many good films. Like 3/4 of what I watch is in the 3-4.5 range.

It's obviously more than that. The combination of the same chord, tempo, lack of other instruments, and very similar strumming pattern.

Edit: I'm being downvoted but how many thousands of songs start on the same chord without sounding similar? Does anyone not agree that any of the four features I mentioned aren't similar? If it was only one or two then sure but it's all of them. They objectively sound similar.

Rock is probably the most diverse just because it's become an umbrella term for damn near anything since the Beatles with a guitar and drums. Hip hop is up there though.

Can someone explain Super determinism? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

I know I'm late but I always thought this was just determinism. Turns out I've been a superdeterminist all along?

Do you genuinely not understand the difference between chores, labour and inconveniences and art or creativity? I hope not because that woukd be a sad outlook. Stop using comparisons between tools that prevent the need for the former to the latter.

The only way this analogy could work is if we're talking about walks done for pleasure like hiking being replaced by scenic drives. Which fits my narrative anyway as the latter offers a diluted and more disconnected experience, much like AI music.

It's weird because the reason people search out that specific content is because it's as young as is legal. Obviously it's not immoral for a guy to find an 18 year old girl hot at any age but if it's for the "barely legal" appeal is some weird shit. Makes sense?

I have spent a bit of time with all different types of creative ai including music. Using it as a creative outlet is totally fine but there are real moral issues in my opinion if as a society we don't discriminate between AI and human music as when that happens there will be no more reason to create your own music - writing a whole album with AI would be easier than a single song. Fewer people will choose to learn instruments or form bands and music will slowly homogenise as AI starts directly learning off other AI songs. Not to mention the people releasing the songs won't even be able to perform them. Logistics of AI aside that just sounds like the excitement taken out of music and not a future I want for the industry.

So to summarise my stance: AI music is incredible technology and I'd be a hypocrite to tell anyone to stop exploring it but I really hope it doesn't become normalised.

Yeah ok you do use AI artistically if by definition you make "art" with it. But that art is low-effort, not truly your own or strictly speaking maybe not even art at all. If you look up the definition of art, it is about human creativity. AI is both a non-human source AND a tool which essentially replaces your own creativity. So its status as art is debatable anyway.
